Lantern Making Workshop for Years 4, 5 & 6
On Monday, organisers from the Lantern Parade came out and made lanterns with all of the Year 4, 5 and 6 students. This year I am very happy to walk with our Rous PS families at this year’s parade on Saturday, 19 June. This is not compulsory, only for those families who are interested.
This year's theme is INNOVATION INSPIRATION REGENERATION celebrating the real-world innovation, creativity and resilience of our community and the positive effect we can have on our future and on our environment.
Next Friday, June 4 is the day! We will be having our Colour Fun Run as a whole school after lunch. The students will need a cheap/old white shirt that can be coloured with the powder. The students
will also need a dry change of clothes to change into. Regardless of any money fund-raised all students will be able to join in the fun!
School Photos
Photos will be held on Friday, 11 June. Individual envelopes went home last Thursday with your child.
Any family wanting sibling photos taken will need to fill in a different envelope and these can be obtained from the school office.
Please ensure that students are in full school uniform for school photos. Envelopes with payment may be returned prior to this date but must be in by Friday, 11 June.

P&C NEWS
The next P&C meeting will be held on Monday, 7 June 7.00pm in the 4/5/6 classroom.
All welcome!
Dear 4/5/6 Parent/Carer
As you are hopefully aware, the cost of this year’s major excursion in August will be $800 per student. The P&C have organised an opportunity for parents/carers to raise funds that would contribute directly to reducing the cost of this excursion for their child.
A Bunnings BBQ will be held from 8:00am-4:00pm on Sunday, 11th July at Bunnings Ballina. Parents/carers of 4/5/6 students who volunteer to help staff the BBQ will have a share of the funds raised allocated to reducing the excursion costs for their child. If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity please email the P&C [email protected] or return the attached roster to the office indicating your preferred time slot(s).
Every effort will be made to ensure all families of 4/5/6 students have an opportunity to be involved and raise funds to support their child to attend this year’s excursion
Bunnings BBQ Roster
Time/Names Cook Cook Serve Serve
8.00-10.00am
10.00-12.00pm
12:00-2:00pm
2:00-4:00pm
If there are more than 16 volunteers we can change to hourly time slots.
Total funds would be divided by the number of time slots (16)
If the BBQ raises $1,000, this gives approx. $60 per time slot. If a parent works 3 time slots this is $180 towards their child’s excursion.
