My Visit to Roma Bluffs

The beginning• As a young boy, I knew that the outdoors would always be a part of my

life, especially in the city that I was raised in Roma,Tx. Roma is a border town, which is separated from Mexico by the Rio Grande, and on the other side of the water is Miguel Aleman, Tamaulipas. The Rio Grande consists of running water, numerous trees, and a wide variety of plants and animals.

Observation Deck• The geological attributes of the lower Rio Grande Valley make a perfect habitat for

a variety of birds, and that is the reason I decided to visit Roma Bluffs, one of the nine World Birding Centers in the southern Valley. Roma Bluffs is known to be a midpoint of over 500 different species of birds, such as Orioles, White Pelicans, and Robins, just to name a few. My journey began at the observation deck at at around 5:00 pm, the sun was out, and the air was at a perfect speed. I also decided to bring my family, as I knew that this visit would be a great experience to relax and enjoy nature.

Awesome view• We spent time trying to spot birds, showing my daughter the

beauty of nature, and simply celebrating another day of life. There is an extraordinary view of the river, and the separation between two countries makes you really think about life, and how fortunate we are to live another day above ground.

The Courtyard• Unfortunately I was unable to get a picture of birds, but we did have some

delicious sandwiches created by Chef Pedro himself. We concluded our day by heading off to Roma Bluffs, where you can find information on the different species of birds, and the history of Roma. We decided to spend some time in the courtyard as well, which has a great design that can sustain bird life. In conclusion, this project was not just a project to me, it was a unique day that I will remember because I actually enjoyed nature, and I know nature enjoyed my family as well.
