Challenges and Blessings form a Vision for Catholic Education

We need active parents and committed parishioners who understand and appreciate the mission of Catholic

education: the unique partnership we share, raising children in the way of holiness.

We need outstandingschool leaders

who are focused in their professionalism, imaginativein their thinking courageous in their thinking, courageous

in their actions, and committed to integrating faith-based values into every aspect of school life.

We need teachers who are on fire with love of their calling as Catholic school educators and

who transform their classrooms with their faith, optimism, energy and competence.

We need quality programming that inspires and enables all students to maximize their growth academically,

spiritually, emotionally and socially. We all need to demonstrate Christian hospitality which

encourages respect, generosity, and gratitude.

We need physical resources which facilitate student learning: facilities, technologies, and infrastructures that support the

development of 21st Century Learning Environments.

Two major additions, the primary wing and the new Gym & Activity Center, have been added to the Saint Jude campus over the past 20 years.

We need financial assistance in every form, but we especially need scholarship aid for current students and endowments

significant enough to provide for our school’s future sustainability.

The Mission of Saint Jude Parish and School

For over 88 years Saint Jude School has been a driving forceof our parish as the earliest members petitionedof our parish, as the earliest members petitioned

the Archbishop for a parish with a school.

With great determination these pioneer families began their fundraising with Thanksgiving turkey raffles, socials, church bazaars

and even competitive wrestling.

This vibrancy and dedication has continued throughout our history.School and parish numbers grew hand-in-hand.

RICH TRADITIONS BRIGHT FUTURES

It is important to note that Saint Jude School does an exemplary job with instilling Catholic values and Catholic identity. This fact is demonstrated through the choices parents and students make to transition to Catholic high

schools following their time at Saint Jude.

Following their graduation in June of 2016Following their graduation in June of 2016,90% of the 8th graders enrolled

in area Catholic High Schools where tuitions range between $10,000 and $13,000 per year.

This provides a possible explanation as to why contributions drop off once our students graduate.

CATHOLIC IDENTITYSaint Jude School is most fortunate in that it has been able to

maintain its Catholic identity in an era when many of the surrounding schools are no longer able to make such a claim.

There are a number of schools in District 12 alone whose enrollment of non-Catholic students ranges between 90% to 99%.

Over recent years Saint Jude School has been able to maintain aOver recent years, Saint Jude School has been able to maintain a consistent enrollment between 460 and 480 students, with over

92% of these who maintain membership in Saint Jude Parish as well.

All God’s Family program is to protect our children.

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee has implemented this program for parents,

employees, educators and adult volunteers who work with children.

respond. Awareness is the first step in understanding our responsibilities
