I am the proudest principal as the leaders, singers and drummers were absolutely spectacular. They remembered their item, presented it perfectly, smiled, were in full school uniform and everyone attending commented on how wonderful they all were. The Governor General, Mrs Hurley and Mr Hobbs all made a special mention of the Drummond Memorial Public School students in attendance. Thank you parents for your support in getting the children there, ensuring they were in school uniform and allowing them to participate in such a special occasion. Please discuss with your child “what it means to be an Australian citizen and how they made the new citizens welcome”. The car with a crown as its number plate was also very spectacular for the students to see. N ext week we will be celebrating Harmony week with a few activities and decorations around the school. With our multicultural school it is an important day for all of our school community to celebrate and reflect on the meaning of the day. I have been informed today that we will be trialling a SMS text message pilot program in term 2. The class teachers will be contacting you with little messages about your child and their learning throughout the day. H ave a great week. We will be fielding teams in Under 8s, 11s, 13s and 15s girls and 13s boys/ mixed comp. Girls can play in all divisions and boys are welcome to play in the under 8 and 11s girls competition. The boys/mixed comp (11s, 13s and 15s) will be played on Monday evenings and the girls comp Saturday mornings. Parents are requested to provide crunch & sip and lunch clearly labelled with the child’s name.

The students may also go through an outdoor activity. Please ensure the child has hat and sunscreen. We have a strict policy of “No hat no outdoor play”.

Engineering and Robotics Workshop: This workshop provides theoretical knowledge in software and mechanical engineering combined with Mathematics and Science. This is a hands on workshop where the students will follow a design process and build a working machine using Lego®. They will also be able to program the machine to perform certain tasks.

Some of our activities include

Electronics Workshop: Students will also be exposed to Electronics components in this workshop. They will build various Electrical circuits using Sensors, LED, Motors etc. This will also involve the use of Renewable energy sources like Solar panels.

Guided Projects: Some of our projects can include: Smart Car, Smart Farm, Smart Home & Sanitation Station.

Virtual Reality: Students will dive into their own virtual space to explore different parts of the ancient and modern world. Only year 5 to 8 will go through Virtual Reality program.
