EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Logistics means the management of the flow of goods and other resources including other

energy between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet the

requirements of the consumers. The council of logistics management defines logistics as that

part of the supply chain process that plans, implements, and controls the efficient, effective

flow and storage of goods, services and related information from the point of origin to the

point of destination. The success of the logistics industry depends on the promptness with

which the products can be delivered to a particular destination or a client. Time and location

are the most important factors in a logistics world. The logistics industry is governed by

technology, integration, globalization, legislation and confederations. In simple words

logistics can be explained as management of business operations such as storage,

transportation and delivery of goods along the supply chain. Logistics is the most important

function in business today. The complexities and dynamics of international trade are such thatan importer will find it extremely advantageous to obtain the services of a customs broker in

order to facilitate the importation of goods. The complexity of the job is evident when one

considers that for every shipment entering the United States there are 500 pages of Customs

The topic selected is Efficiency in the customs house brokerage

agents as the intermediary in Unisource logistics solutions With the current emphasis on

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

In this research topic research design used is exploratory research design

.It helps to generate a set of hypothesis of researched based questions. There

are three methods that are applied for explorative research studies are as

follows:-

Surveying the literature

Experience survey

The variables selected are Documentation Quality , Speed of documentation

process, Time and Cost .The sample size is finite ,it can be approximately sixty.

The sampling method used in this case are Random sampling and Stratified

sampling.

LIMITATIONS OF STUDY

The busy schedule of the Customers restricted the collection of detailed

information.

The confidentiality restricted the collection of documentation details of

the customers

The non-responsiveness of the certain customers.

Unwillingness to answer the Questionnaire.

CONCLUSION

The exploratory study of this project will formulate the idea how to improve

the efficiency of customs house brokerage services in the logistics and to understand

the satisfaction of the customers in the customs house brokerage services provided by

the Unisource logistics solutions. This study also gives the anticipated issues in

customs house brokerage agents in the logistics operations.
