REINVENTING BUSINESS - EMBRACING CHANGE

Transcript of REINVENTING BUSINESS - EMBRACING CHANGE

Disruption doesn't stand still and neither should any of us. Disruptions are like wormholes of science fiction, where the usual rules of time and space do not apply.

To train the budding managers to navigate through these constantly shifting terrains, we propose to respond in the most complex landscape of diverse educational models, to recover and emerge stronger by reinventing the management systems and culture through different courses, delivery mechanism and student-centric learning, to thrive by sparking innovation and shaping the new normal.

The ever-increasing and often-conflicting demands from multiple stakeholders have helped us develop the required educational framework that promotes adaptability, creative problem-solving and quality leadership. We ensure to inculcate an innate sense of curiosity and affinity for originality and a habit of deeper thinking that stand the students in good stead for the digital age.

We at Indira believe that to overcome a typical crisis like this an Institution needs to respond, in ways that deal with the present situation and manages continuity; to recover, by innovating and emerging stronger; to thrive, where we prepare for and shape the “new normal.”

IIMP, being an initiator of change, invites budding managers and future leaders, to join the game, move the world forward, innovate and become responsible business leaders.

Change is here to stay, and we need to continue to Embrace Change.

“Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think.” - Albert Einstein

As we have completed 25 years of journey, many emotional thoughts cloud my mind. I was a young lady with a secure job with a multinational company when I made a courageous decision to step out of my comfort zone with the strength of character to venture into an unknown field in the world of education. I was clear from the very beginning that harmonious and healthy society can only be based on an educated populace.

We decided that we would fulfil this need by creating an Institute with a high standard of excellence through professional competence. Quality being the bottom line for us, in the last 25 years, through the great teamwork we have and will continue to sculpt the students into competitive, empathetic, optimistic individuals who will strive to succeed and ultimately can contribute to the betterment of the society and nation.

The Indira Group has proven itself as a vibrant and stellar institution in the field of professional education and research. We hold our heads high and with renewed energy pledge that we will continue our journey of imparting quality education which will have a lasting impact on the generations to come.

Dr Tarita Shankar

Indira Group of Institutes, Pune

I wish you the very best for your future!

“Legacy is not leaving something for people. It's leaving something in people.” - Peter Strople

Education has inconceivable power which facilitates self-reliance and opens innumerable avenues towards success in life. It equips individuals with the necessary skills to thrive in a challenging and competitive environment. The current catastrophe has offered education leaders an important reflection point to question the status quo and explore new approaches for delivering quality education to millions of students. Now is the time for us to get creative, innovative and re-calibrate our approach towards education and help the students create valuable lifelong learning experiences for themselves.

Chairperson,

FROM CHAIRPERSON’S DESK

With best wishes,

Indira Group of Institutes celebrated its Silver Jubilee in the year 2019. It's been a great journey with our flagship institute 'Indira Institute of Management, Pune’ launched in 1994 with a single MBA program and creating a legacy of renowned quality educational institutes offering a variety of UG/PG programs under the aegis of the Indira Group of Institutes.

Chetan Wakalkar

Our Alumni are our brand ambassadors, spread across the globe and are holding senior management positions in reputed industries. Their huge contribution to the global economy and society is noteworthy. In addition to this many have embarked on an entrepreneurial journey.

Indira Group of Institutes, Pune

The world is adjusting to a new reality that was unimaginable a few months ago. The pandemic has impacted education systems around the world, forcing the global education community to respond quickly and revamp the systems to set the ball rolling. Levels of preparedness and resilience will determine how an organization emerges out of this crisis. At Indira, we are always prepared and resilient to embrace change and use this as an opportunity to build back better to meet the demands of the future.

We are geared to welcome you and provide all the necessary skills that the modern leaders need - multidimensional personality with an emphasis on cognitive and adaptive learning, design intent, collaborative working in an increasingly technology-aided workplace, social intelligence etc. IIMP builds these attributes in its students.

I wholeheartedly welcome you all to be a part of this wonderful journey together.

FROM THE GROUP DIRECTOR'S DESK

We staunchly believe that teachers are the most important and most powerful force to quality education. Thus, we have a galaxy of talented faculty members with rich and relevant industry experience to bring the board room battles in the classroom / virtual classrooms and shape the students to their full potential. We also have experts from reputed industrial houses and renowned academicians as visiting faculty. A vibrant industry interface through seminars, workshops, alumni interaction which helps students get a feel of the real business world before they actually take a plunge into it.

Sooner or later, all businesses, even the most successful, run out of room to grow. To keep pace with the current trends IIMP strongly felt a need to make a difference and march forward with the corporate standards by obtaining autonomy. After getting University Autonomy the Institute has designed and revamped the syllabus by adding Industry-focused courses in areas such as HR, Finance, Marketing, IT, General Management, Business Analytics & Holistic Development.

We welcome you to the portals of IIMP and hope that you will very soon join the ranks of the thousands of students who have passed through the gates of this venerable institution and believed in the intellect the Institute has always provided.

With Best Wishes,Dr Pandit Mali

Director, Indira Institute of Management, Pune

Making a commitment to reinvention before the need is glaringly obvious doesn't come naturally. ACADEMIC COUNCIL

MBA Program (affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University) has now become Autonomous from Academic Year 2019-20.

It is a widely accepted fact that rapid economic growth can happen only with the help of amply skilled managers and leaders, who will give the country the desired impetus for the development of each sector. This has become possible with the leap of management education, especially in India. The gamut of this leap has outreached large heterogeneous sections of society across Academia and Industry. What made wonders in the past will become obsolete in the future. Thus, creating new and better courses and customising them as per the interest of the Industry and students is the need of the current management education system.

At IIMP we focus on Value-Based Education because of its diversity, profound cultural base, collective thinking and possession of self-respect. IIMP is the flagship institute of Shree Chanakya Education Society's (SCES's) - Indira Group of Institutes offering the MBA Program:

IIMP is the very first management institute in Pune and third in Maharashtra to be accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) of AICTE, New Delhi for MBA course. It is re-accredited for the fourth time up to 2023. The recent grant of autonomy for its MBA programme is yet another feather to its cap.

The MBA program at IIMP is developed and defined with the help of IIMP's Governance Philosophy and with the focus of today's corporate understanding. Program Educational Objectives (PEO) for the course are therefore summarized as:

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Teachers are very caring and interested in students' well-being. They make sure that, every class is educational, interactive and full of practical experiences related to management concepts. I learned so many things during these two years. The best exposure I got during these two years was presenting IIMP in international conferences at IIM Calcutta & IIM Indore. It wouldn't have been possible without the support I got from faculty and our Director. I wouldn't have been able to achieve what I have achieved without that caring and supporting environment. I can positively say IIMP has made me a better person. It has helped me to develop a positive attitude towards my academics and discover more about myself. IIMP has paved the way for me to live life positively and happily. I am thankful to all faculty and supporting staff.

Data with the agriculture department shows that in 2015, two-thirds of the 1.37 crore farmers in the state of Maharashtra have been affected by the drought mainly in the Marathwada and Vidarbha regions. In just four months between January to April 2017, 852 farmer suicides have been reported by the Government data. During the same span previous year, 1,023 cases were reported. Marathwada region, which had experienced successive years of drought, reported 291 cases till April 2017.

Indira Group of Institutes (IGI) under the visionary leadership of its Chairperson, Dr Tarita Shankar, announces its vision – Indira Sustainable Maharashtra Initiative (ISMI) Launched on 26th November 2015

IGI believes that education and training are powerful tools against poverty and hunger. Skill development through education is the key to improving rural productivity, employability and income-earning opportunities. Enhancing food security and promoting environmentally sustainable rural development and livelihoods is the need of the hour.IGI will set aside a corpus to help children of the farmers who committed suicide, by sponsoring their education in undergraduate and postgraduate programs at its campuses. IGI feels that such farmer's children deserve better opportunities to live, hence its decision to help in this way.ISMI will help one child each from such identified families by educating them and helping them to get employed with a steady job, thus augmenting their family income, and standard of living. IGI also believes that such economic independence is more likely to ensure that such farmer's children will take forward the legacy of educating their children, thus breaking the cycle of poverty and hunger, thereby raising the productivity of future generations and generating sustainable growth. Education and training are essential components of any strategy to improve agricultural and non-farm productivity and pull households out of poverty. Learning about improved production technologies and methods, new products and markets, business and life skills can make a big difference in the quality of life for the farming population.IGI accolades its Alumni who have taken the decision to support their Alma Mater in supporting this cause by sponsoring part of the education of the farmer's children.IGI has also planned to explore alternative solutions to the problems of farmers through extensive discussions with them about supplementary sources of income, in order to end the agrarian crisis and farmers' suicides. IGI will facilitate such attempts by embarking on a mass contact program of farmers in Marathwada and Vidarbha regions.

We are sitting on a ticking time bomb unless we think of ways to diffuse it, we are all going to be affected by this malaise.

“People who work hard to ensure we get food on our plates are killing themselves.”

This is not the farmer's problem alone; it is our problem, yours and mine!
