MMJ Wollongong Auction SuccessMMJ Wollongong’s latest auction event on Thursday 19th June again showed that the local market is still providing strong results when the campaign is well structured & when the property is auction suited.

Bidding got off to a hectic start for 2 sites on the Princes Highway Figtree, each totalling more than 1,500m2. Both achieved results comfortably above reserve at $815,000 & $675,000.

Auctioneer & listing agent Daniel Hastings was very pleased with the bidding where developers, medical practitioners & child care operators were amongst those vying for the rare land offerings.

“It was particularly pleasing to reach such a strong result when you have been appointed by such a significant government entity, such as the NSW Roads & Maritime Sevices” Mr Hastings was quoted as saying.

The third & final submission of the event was a charming Art Deco apartment block of 4 strata units at 20 Gipps Street, Wollongong. Listing Agent David Geary noted excellent enquiry was received for this “last of its kind” opportunity.

The largest number of registrations for the night were taken for the Gipps Street building which quickly translated to particularly strong & extended bidding process. The rare & highly sort property eventually sold for $1.76m.

Beachside Kiama Motel soldThe Kiama Ocean View Motor Inn at 9 Bong Bong Street was recently sold for $3,175,000 by agent Mark Spinelli of Spinelli Real Estate.

The 17 room Motel is located in the heart of Kiama’s Beach district with access and unobstructed views of Surf Beach whilst also only a short walk to Kiama’s boat harbour and main street shopping.

Mr Spinelli said that the motel will continue to run as normal, however there is a current D/A approval for a luxury residential unit development. “I have been working with the new owners on planning the marketing of the D/A approved apartment complex,” he said.
