The realestateworld.com.au Annual Golf Day went off in spectacular style on Thursday 22nd November 2013.

This day raises money for Charity and provides an excellent networking opportunity for agents, their clients, solicitors, financiers etc, not to mention an afternoon of fresh air and fun.

Over $4000 was raised after approximately 80 keen, thirsty and not very good golfers turned out on a beautiful day at gorgeous Port Kembla Golf Club to play 18 holes.

Overall winners MMJ Wollongong used the age old formula of 3 ordinary golfers and 1 excellent golfer and hence took out the trophy. Well done to the whole team.

The most popular attraction on the course seemed to be the Drinks Cart, followed closely by our fun(d) raising hole ably staffed by two very attractive hostess’s and Charles Hegyi, again raising extra $$ for charity. Lots of laughs trying to use an upside down plastic port cup as a golf tee……

Prizes were upgraded this year with the common beach towel being relegated to places further down the list. Even the food was ok….

The organising team of Nick Logan, Ian Fitzgibbon and the entire Real Estate Institute committee were delighted with the result, each year is increasing in popularity and dollars raised.

Selling off the plan

Cash incentive for tree or sea change

Residents of Sydney, Wollongong and Newcastle planning a tree or sea change are eligible for cash incentives of up to $10,000 thanks to changes to the NSW government’s Regional Relocation Grant Scheme, which took effect on January 1, 2014.

The amendments to the scheme include extending the eligibility criteria to include metropolitan long-term renters (two consecutive years of rental history). Previously, the grant was only payable after people had sold their city home and bought another in rural and regional NSW.

A separate new incentive of $10,000 for employees who hold a skilled job for a minimum of two years also comes into effect today, to encourage more people to relocate from metropolitan areas to regional NSW for employment. Both grants are subject to meeting specific eligibility criteria, including a minimum distance requirement of 100km for the relocation. Applicants can only apply for one of the grants, not both.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional Infrastructure & Services Andrew Stoner said the grants are designed to boost population growth in regional areas to meet the expected increase in demand for jobs being driven by the

Government’s investment in regional infrastructure and business growth. They will also help to ease tight rental markets and population pressures.
