Reading Fun Introduction
Reading Fun is an article-based textbook that teaches English by
introducing practical, interesting readings. The articles keep learners’
attention by covering a variety of fun topics. Each level provides
targeted, level-appropriate vocabulary and comprehensive review
sections that test all of the book’s material. Each article introduces
12 vocabulary words that are related to the unit topic. After finishing
Reading Fun, learners will have a greater grasp of the basic topic-
specific words, while having had fun reading about an assortment of
topics.
Book 3 contains 24 articles ranging from environment and nature to
human rights and politics. In order to keep the material interesting,
topics range from fun and popular to practical and thought-provoking.
For example, an article about TRX training urges learners to strengthen
their core muscles. Another article looks at the refugee crisis that the
world is facing today. All of the topics make learners think about the
world around them and how language helps shape their world view.
It is hoped that learners will intensify their interest in learning about a
broad range of topics. By covering different aspects of the real world,
Reading Fun sparks curiosity and encourages learners to think about
real world applications of English. Every topic contains fun information
that learners and teachers alike are sure to find engrossing as they
make their way to English perfection.

Cutting Down on Waste
Our environment is in bad shape, and we should be ashamed of ourselves. We are to blame for the disaster that has been created. We throw away a lot of garbage, but it doesn’t just disappear; instead, this abandoned material ends up on beaches or in oceans. It ruins the scenery, and it sometimes causes plants and animals to perish.
We all need to become active participants in cutting down on waste. To start, we should try to consume foods that are natural rather than artificial. When you eat a banana, for example, only the yellow peel is left over. When disposed of properly, it will not damage the environment. If you eat a candy bar, though, the plastic wrapper left over will last a very long time.
Another type of waste we should cut down on is those “smart” devices. As electrical appliances become cheaper and more compact, many of their components are too small to be recycled for reuse. Therefore, manufacturers must constantly mine for raw materials, digging up enormous areas of land and producing lots of waste in the process. As it turns out, these smart devices are not so smart for the environment.
We are all responsible for taking care of our planet, and we must do our part to cut down on all forms of waste. After all, this is the only planet we have!
