Layout the approach

Step 1: Layout the approach

Let me start with what I see as top 3-5 things (attributes/experiences/skills) thatare needed to be successful in this role. Then I’ll link these attributes/skills/…with my relevant experience.*

* Direct quote, that you could potentially use as is or with adaptation.

Step 2: Demonstrate understanding

List what are the key (3-5) requirements for a candidate to be able to do thisjob very well.

Step 3: Confirm you guys are on the same page

This is it!!! At least from the top of my head. Would you like to add anything to thislist of attributes?*

* Direct quote, that you could potentially use as is or with adaptation.

Step 4: Loop through in an engaging way

Pick up one item at a time – provide examples from your relevant experiencesuccinctly that demonstrate why you are an awesome fit for this role.

I do have an interesting experience here to share. If you would like - I can diveinto it later but before we dive into (the next skills/attribute) - do you have anyquestions? *

Move to the next attribute.

* Direct quote, that you could potentially use as is or with adaptation.

Step 5:Wrap-up

So this is it from a high level. Again, very happy to do a deeper dive into any ofthese areas. *

* Direct quote, that you could potentially use as is or with adaptation.

Some tips when you are using this approach:

Pick 3-4 topics that you deem are most important for the interviewer and you.Anything more and you risk overwhelming (or boring) the interviewer. Theinterviewer may very well add one or more items to your list which is generally agood thing.

It would be a good idea to jot down the list so you can go through each of theseattributes methodologically.

Aim for a strong opening and a strong close. Use the areas that will resonate well withinterviewer about your candidacy for both opening and for the close.

Be mindful of interviewer signals – you may need to adapt (your pace/content) basedon signals you are receiving.
