What social groups are in our product?

The protagonists/victims in our product are young teenage boys, who are white and working class, which is a common demographic for the local area helping to make the piece realistic.

The antagonist is a young girl, who is white however her class can’t be distinguished due to her costume.

How did we technically construct representations?

The majority of representation was created through Mise-en-scene. We used things such as clothing and costume and also character blocking.

We wanted to make our narrative realistic by having characters that followed the dominant ideologies of their social economic group.

However we also wanted to have unconventional features to our characters, in order to make sure it was more interesting .

How are these social groups represented? Teenage boys: The

representation of these boys in some ways is against the dominant ideology. Teenage boys are usually represented as brave, courageous and not usually victims, however in our product they are the victims and they are presented as being fearful and somewhat vulnerable.

Binary Oppositions & Macro Issues

In general we believe our film both challenges and conforms to social issues in society.

For example, feminism is reinforced in our piece, as the female character is the more dominant and over powering character.
