Janice Earl is here to tell us first- hand about the ups and downs of her experiences, and her appreciation for those who choose to give the gift of life. You won’t want to miss this speaker’s description of her new lease on life, along with WHY and HOW she earned it. Janice was born in Decatur, and has lived here her whole life. She graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1992, and then attended Millikin University. She graduated from Millikin in May 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. A week after graduation, Janice started working at the family business, Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, and has been employed there ever since. Incredibly, in July of 1992, at age 18, Janice received a double lung transplant, and in September of 1999, she received a kidney transplant. A 20+ year survivor, Janice is, obviously, a big supporter of organ and tissue donation. She enjoys talk- ing to people about her experience with transplantation, and the importance of being an organ donor. Let’s have a big turnout for this presenter who underwent adversity and came out fighting because someone gave her a chance at life. Budget and By Laws Presentation The Executive Board met on March 12th and heard the Budget report, resulting in two amendments to the By-Laws being proposed to the regular membership. A vote of the general membership will be taken after the recommended changes are re-read at the following luncheon meeting on Thursday, May 1, 2014.
