1.Rights to Information: • Creating the ability to access the widest

possible range of information over a spectrum of activities so as to enable the widest choice of actions, motivations, and strategies within our lives. It also requires easy access to the institutions and people that determine the economic, social and political conditions that influence our environment.



• 2. Rights to experience: Providing for the rights of access to broad

representations of individual and social experiences, hearing and sharing stories that foster a sense of belonging and being able to engage in the ‘reciprocities of full citizenship’.

We need more than information, we need the skills to be able to contextualise, understand and translate information and experience into knowledge that links the present to the past and assists in forging strategies for the future. The public space must guarantee access ‘to the key debates and arguments’



• 4. Rights to participation:The ability to speak about our own lives and

aspirations using our own voices and being heard by others. To be safe to demonstrate our differences, to express our dissent and to be ‘represented’ in society.

Where the user finds – stores – directs and plays with their own ecology of web/library/learning sources

Sources will include any piece of web content, which can be shared, or repurposed into a personal set of web parts – or as a widget type ecology of sources in the same way as, for example, iGoogle, or Netvibes

• The user will be able to insert and customise widgets/sources, e.g. show their Gmail Account – Flickr photos – Facebook, Twitter , as well as any content that can inserted through RSS or API

Blog, status alerts, plus forum, video, photos, group activities, meetings, calendar et al. all sharable with other social networking sites through “open social”, or similar, protocols.

NSLA members and stakeholders will involve the local and regional content and software developer community to scope, design and construct the four tool sets in the frmework.


DEVELOP A COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE

Construct a community of Australasian multi-stakeholder practice, to extend and develop both the conceptual reach of Project Five and the online tools and web services that underpin it.

A demonstrator to show how the tool box framework can be integrated for/with:

- a heritage/cultural insitution - a public library- a cultural/educational web project.
