Program ObjectivesThe course participant will learn about the most up-to-date and state-of-the-art technology and management in the fi eld of Anesthesia, including:1) The benefi ts of fl uid minimization and the role
of goal-directed fl uid therapies to improve perioperative outcomes
2) The pharmacology of antithrombotic medications
3) The identifi cation of risk factors for spinal hematoma and how to minimize them
4) Defi nitions of the seven “M’s” of organization and production management
5) Exponential growth of offi ce-based surgery (OBS) and offi ce-based anesthesia (OBA) –managing the “team” for optimal safety
6) Diagnosing and treating obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)
7) Pharmacogenomics, personalized medicine and their impact on anesthesiology
8) UGRAa. Pertinent anatomy imaging and needling
techniques for regional anesthesiab. Nerve blocks using ultrasoundc. Basic scanning techniques to identify
and facilitate epidural, spinal and paravertebral blocks
