Full-Length BioMoGo – Our MoGo midsoles are now more environmentally friendly by adding a non-toxic, natural additive to the MoGo compound that encourages anaerobic microbes to munch away once it hits an enclosed, active landfill.

Caterpillar Crash Pad – This segmented crash pad customizes the individual’s lay down with just the right amount of cushion and stabilization, giving the runner a smooth heel-to-toe transition.

DRB® Accel – Enhances tunable torsion of the midfoot. Shank-like thermoplastic devices vary from single units of a set modulus, to dual-unit versions of varied modulus (tuned with higher stiffness for medial support, the lateral side is less stiff to smooth the ride).

Omega Flex Grooves – This innovation enhances the flexibility of the midsole and provides an effortless forefoot ride while still offering great cushioning and midsole integrity. The unique shape of the groove allows it to flex dynamically without compromising cushioning. When at rest, it supports the shoe; when it’s flexing, the groove opens up to allow greater flexibility.

Tuned Density Midsole – We’ve tuned the density in our midsoles to better correspond with gender and weight categories, delivering a custom balance of cushioning that’s not too soft or stiff.

Hey Runners! Fans of plush running footwear are bound to be familiar with the Glycerin,the maximum feature neutral shoe from Brooks, the guys that brought you theAdrenaline, Ghost, and Pure project shoes. The Glycerin series has been gaining inpopularity over the last few versions, so we figured it was about time we gave you ourtake on them.

Cushioning: (5/5) We gave the Glycerin 11 the highest ranking possible for cushioning.Full-length Brooks DNA cushioning (that stuff that looks like jello, but adjusts the level ofsupport based on how much impact it’s taking, and is therefore way more fun to run onthan actual jello) and a full-length S-257 cushsole means an uber-pillowy midsole totake the impact of all phases of the running cycle.

Stability: (1/5) The Glycerin is Brooks maximum tech neutral model, so all the featuresare designed for the under-pronating to neutral runner. With no tech aimed at preventingpronation, we gave the Glycerin the lowest rank there is. Stability runners, you’ll want tocheck out some of the other great shoes the team at Brooks have this season.

Weight: (5/5) With all the great stuff loaded into the Glycerin, the weight is bound to beup there. At 11.8 oz (men’s size 9) this shoe ranks in on the heavier side of the weightscale.

Unique Features: Unique shaped Omega Flex Grooves allow the forefoot to aneffortless ride; Caterpillar crash pad lets the segmented outsole meet the road evenlythroughout the run cycle, giving a super-smooth heel to toe transition; 3D Fit Printingreduces the amount of weight on top of the foot, making the upper more flexible andcomfortable; and a filled-in arch gives greater ground contact adding to the smooth rideand easy transition.

Summary + Recommendations: We know how much stuff Brooks has put into theGlycerin, and you might think that means one heavy and clunky shoe, but in this casethe complete opposite is true. While heavier, the Glycerin actually feels fairly light, andall the great technology in it makes for one of the smoothest rides we’ve seen in anyrunning shoe to date. Brooks’ Glycerin 11 feels comfortable, runs smoother than youprobably thought possible, and has a unique and cool look to it that’s certain to standout from the pack no matter what your training for. We’d recommend the Glycerin 11 forneutral runners looking for an easy, and smooth ride, so those training days don’t feellike pounding the pavement.
