Procedure for Safety Supervisor Registration Scheme (SSRS)

01. Accreditation & Training Mission Statement

This Accreditation & Training Program is in line with the Trakhees’ Mission to ensure

adherence of EHS Rules and Regulations to enhance performance and customer

satisfaction and to reduce work related accidents.

02. Introduction:

This 1 day training programme is specially designed for the individuals who are responsible

to undertake the role of Health and Safety Supervisor on full‐time basis on small

modification projects. It is mandatory for all the Contractors working in the Trakhees

Jurisdiction area to be aware of their obligations to comply with the Trakhees-EHS

Regulations/requirements and to get their employees registered as Safety Supervisors.

03. Purpose:

The purpose of this procedure to describe the method to apply and get

registered/accredited under SSRS, for the contractors/consultants/clients working under

the jurisdiction of Trakhees, for their small modification works.

04. Scope:

This procedure is applicable to all contractors, consultants and clients under the jurisdiction

of Trakhees for small modification works.

05. Course Fees:

AED 1020/-per person is required to be paid in Cash at EHS main office in Jebel Ali Free

Zone or at Dragon Mart Trakhees Office, as per the details mentioned in the payment

advice.

06. Training Duration:

1 day (8:00am – 3:30pm) New/Renewal.

07. Accreditation Card & Certificate Validity:

The Certificate/Accreditation Card shall be issued & valid for a period of 2 years from the

training date. Upon expiry of the Accreditation Card/Certificate the candidate shall be

required to attend Refresher Training and new valid Accreditation Card/Certificate for

period of 2 years shall be issued.

08. Registration Procedure: (Also refer to workflow on last page of this procedure)

8.1 The applicants are required to hold appropriate qualifications relevant to their job

functions and roles as described in the below mentioned qualification criteria. The

candidates should have the basic knowledge of health and safety prior to attending the

SSRS training course.

8.2 Trakhees reserves its right with respect to the decision for attendance or registration

as a Safety Supervisor. The decision will be communicated to the concerned applicants

& will be binding on them.

8.3 The Registration Form can be downloaded from EHS website completed in all respect

and submitted to EHS-Accreditation & Training Section by email

Ehs.Accreditation@trakhees.ae along with all Required Documents. EHS will review

the submitted Form and documents and send the Payment Advice through e-mail to

the approved candidates after screening their submitted applications. Upon receipt of

a copy of the payment receipt EHS shall confirm/inform the date and time of the

training by e-mail.

8.4 The applicant details will be reviewed by our Assessment Team if he/she is qualified to

go through our Training Course. A minimum 5 working days period is required for

obtaining assessment results.

8.5 All candidates who have successfully attended the Safety Supervisor Registration

Course will be issued with Accreditation Card mentioning “SSRS”. The card will contain

a photograph of the candidate and a unique serial number for identification. The

Accreditation Card remains the property of EHS and must be surrendered upon

request. All registered safety supervisors are required to carry their Accreditation Card

with them during working hours as they may be required to present it if asked by the

authority.

8.6 In the event of loss of Accreditation Card, the concerned safety supervisor must report

it immediately to EHS where a replacement card will be issued upon request approval

at a cost of AED 100, payable prior to the issuance of the card. Before the expiry of the

card safety supervisors will be required to attend a refresher course only with prior

approval by the authority. The updates will be provided to all registered safety

supervisors. After attending the refresher course, the safety supervisor will be issued a

new registration card & which will be valid for further 2 years.

8.7 If the safety supervisor changes his sponsor, it must be informed to Trakhees

accreditation department and SSRS card needs to be updated with new sponsor’s

name. Upon application sponsors name will be changed as per the new visa by paying

a fees of AED 100/- towards replacement of SSRS card with amendment.

8.8 Submission of any forged documents (certificates, qualifications, experience etc.) will

lead to disqualification/ban as well as legal action against the applicant.

8.9 Project Managers/Senior Managers/Engineers are not eligible for applying SSRS. Such

applicants may choose “Managers Safety Awareness Program” (MSAP).

8.10 Registered Safety Advisors with SARS Card can also work as Safety Supervisors for the

modification works.

In order to be accepted for a Trakhees Accreditation program, the following documents

(clear copies) must be submitted by email:

1. Filled Registration Form (filled using the computer (PC), not scanned copy).

2. Fully updated CV of the participant in PDF format.

3. Qualifications

Scanned copy of Accepted basic Academic Qualifications.

Scanned copy of Basic first aid training from an approved institute accredited by EHS

Scanned copy of Basic Firefighting Training from an approved institute accredited by

DCD which includes Practical Firefighting training

4. Color Passport copy with valid visa page.

5. Trade license copy of the sponsoring company

6. Color photo in JPEG Format, Size 2 cm x 2 cm.

Note: The originals for all submitted documents/certificates shall be required to be

brought and shown to the application review Officer before attending the training.

Accepted basic Academic Qualifications:

1. Secondary School Leaving certificate (SSLC)/10th Standard

Or

2. Higher Secondary School certificate (HSSC or 10+2)

Or

Any other academic qualifications other than the above will be subject to the final

approval of screening committee.

Accepted “Training Certificates”:

1. Basic first aid training from an approved institute accredited by EHS

2. Basic Firefighting Training from an approved institute by DCD with Practical

Firefighting training

Accepted Experience Criteria

Minimum 02 years’ experience in the field of construction industry/Safety.

Any other combination other than the above will be subject to the approval of screening

committee.
