Vale Phillip Hughes As a member of the Valley 10 Community of Public Schools we are supporting the Macksville schools as they join with their community to remember local boy Phillip Hughes. Our thoughts are with Phillip’s family and friends. Carols Tonight Our Christmas Singalong will go ahead this evening outside the school hall starting with a sausage sizzle at 5.00pm. Our P&C will also have drinks for sale with soft drinks $2.00, water and poppers $1.00 and sausage sandwiches $2.50 each. Singing will follow with the evening concluding around 7.00pm. We hope all families can join us with their children. Come dressed in your Christmas or party clothes for a casual evening together. Please bring a blanket or chair and join us outside the school hall. If you travel by bus and will be starting Year 3 or Year 7 in 2015 or you are changing schools or address, you are required to complete a new bus application form. Please be aware that you may be ineligible if you live within a 1km radius of the school. However, you can apply to the Ministry of Transport directly if you have special circumstances or for safety reasons. Please contact the school for more information.
Learning and Support Teacher Mrs Joske has been our rock in the Learning support area. All those cuddles and kind words have helped us develop confidence and self esteem and feel cared about at school. She also develops our literacy skills and helps us develop a love of books and reading. Thank you Mrs Joske!
Reading Recovery Reading Recovery is a program for Year1 students. We the 10 children who worked with Mrs Makinson this year on Reading Recovery, can now think about our learning and use strategies to help us read and write. Thank you Mrs Makinson!
QuickSmart Mrs Goodby helped heaps of us in Stage 2 & 3 with our Maths. Now we have automaticity with our number facts and are very confident with solving problems. Thank you Mrs Goodby!
Early Action for Success The team of EAfS have helped us in Stage 1 classes to identify our next learning and assisted us to learn our new learning in class and small groups. We have made good progress and are now thinking about what we need to learn next. Thank you Ms Attenburgh, Mr Kenny, Mrs Hullman and Mrs Coulter.
School Learning Support Officers Our wonderful Teachers Aides have worked alongside our teachers all year providing wonderful support. They are a highly trained and a very professional team who have been invaluable to the operation of our classes. They are kind and caring and nothing is too much trouble for them. They help us read, write, do our Maths and help with art and craft.
