KOMANEKA AT KERAMAS BEACH A Sophisticated Tropical Gateway
Komaneka Resorts are a collection of sophisticated boutique resorts in Bali owned, founded,
designed, and run by a young couple from Ubud, Koman Wahyu Suteja and his wife, Mansri
Trisniawati, with most of the properties located in highland Ubud. Each is carefully created to
fulfill travelers’ expectations of upscale luxury lifestyle with outstanding value, in a spacious
resort room or villa, surrounded by the natural beauty of Bali and looked after by Komaneka’s
gracious professional staff to make you feel ‘at home’. Komaneka gives an experience of both
traditional Balinese culture and the leisure of a modern international lifestyle.
While Ubud brims with temples, small palaces, galleries, museums, spas, shops, and its
most renowned traditional musicians and dancers, the village of Keramas, on the southeast coast
of Bali, is a very old community with royal ancestry. The village is unspoiled by over-
development and has a rich local cultural life. Its classical Balinese opera troupe is famous all
over Bali. This is the address of our new beachside home, Komaneka at Keramas Beach.
Komaneka at Keramas Beach, is the newest in the collection of Komaneka Resorts
boutique hotels with a 360-degree view that includes the Indian Ocean and the neighboring
island Nusa Penida, living rice fields, and the glorious Mount Agung, Bali’s highest and holiest
volcano. All villas have private pools and unrestricted views of the sea — on a sprawling
property that comes right to the edge of a beautiful black-sand beach.
On the eastern side of Komaneka at Keramas Beach overlooking the Indian Ocean is
the restaurant Timur Kitchen. (Timur means ‘east’ in Indonesian.) The sophisticated
contemporary design of this open-air restaurant is rich with wood sculpture and intricate details
inspired by the old era of the royal Balinese kingdoms, as well as a water fountain and pond as a
symbol of prosperity and luck. The stunning location gives the spectacular 360-degree view that
the whole resort offers.
Close to Timur Kitchen is the 400 square-meters swimming pool with its own white
sandy beach, contrasting with the exotic black volcanic sands of the Keramas beach. The venue
has capacity of 20 loungers overlooking Keramas beach shaded with palm trees and beautiful
tropical gardens.
Komaneka at Keramas Beach is a about appoximately 30-minute drive from Ubud, 15
minutes from Sanur, and 50 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport.
Komaneka is a way into the magical world of Bali. Its hospitality arises from the Balinese
Hindu practice of treating their gods like honored guests, with offerings of food, flowers, music,
dance, and splendor. For this reason, many ordinary Balinese are accomplished dancers,
musicians, and artists. The staffs are happy to share with resort guests their skills in wood-
carving, dancing, and making offerings, with free classes every afternoon. Komaneka also
introduces the rich and savory world of Balinese and Indonesian cuisine for a delightful dining
experience.
