SU2C Wellness initiatives

– Hosting onsite SU2C events – Created an Jetnet educational series that includes questions

to ask when confronted with a cancer diagnosis– Enhanced awareness of oncology support nurses as a health

benefit– Added a second opinion service working closely with SU2C on

treatment options (Advanced Medical)

Streamlined the process to get into clinical trials

• Created team approach bringing treating physician, second option service, SU2C-funded research teams, and health plan together to make best treatment decisions

Resources have been added to engage and support team members in determining which cancer treatment is most appropriate and how it can be provided

New Benefit in 2016; Was being worked on; Jan 2017 effective; already in the works but SU2C enabled us to bring specialist form SU2C and to review all of the process/health plans and worked with Advance Medical, BCBS and United – to develop a process for a second opinion; have resources on advance trials, 200 specialists who are engaged with SU2C; work through cancer diagnosis with a lens that Oncology specialist nurse – helps navigation; resources, cancer specialist in the area; guide you with a clinical setting Clinical Trials – in past, were automatically denied; to be approved you had to go through the appeal. Denial taken away, company is immediately contacted; to warm transfer to the appeal process; emotional burden taken away. You receive a call -
