Product DescriptionMerriott Precision radiators are horizontal and vertical tubular panel radiators offering a high quality design with a high heat output.

Precision horizontal radiators offer outputs ranging from 74 watts to 7902 watts at ΔT50˚C. Precision vertical radiator offers outputs ranging from 248W to 4199 W at ΔT50˚C. Higher heat outputs can be achieved using non-standard radiators.

The height of the horizontal radiator increases in increments of 72.5mm, from a minimum of 143mm through to 868mm. The horizontal radiator length always relates to the overall front panel length, and increases in increments of 100mm, from a minimum of 500mm through to 3000mm.

Vertical Precision radiators are available in heights from 600mm to 3000mm in 100mm increments. The length of the vertical radiator increases in increments of 72.5mm, from a minimum of 288mmm to a maximum of 868mm.

Outputs All Merriott Precision radiators have been manufactured and tested in accordance with EN442.

Finish Every Merriott Precision radiator undergoes an intensive pre-treatment process to protect against rust. In pre-treatment, the radiators are degreased, coated with iron phosphate and rinsed prior to painting. A cathodic electrodeposition primer coating is then applied to give total coverage of the bare steel and maximum corrosion protection. The durable topcoat (epoxy polyester powder) is electrostatically applied and stove enamel baked at 180˚C. The process is monitored to ensure continuous achievement of optimum adhesion, opacity and gloss levels.

Colour Our standard finish is semi-gloss RAL 9016 (white) in epoxy polyester powder. An extensive range of other RAL and BS colours are available on request.

Range Overview Horizontal - Vertical

PackagingThe entire surface of the radiator, including all 4 corners, is protected by cardboard box ends and packed in shrink wrapped polythene.

Connections Standard connections are 4 X 1/2" (15mm) ABCDwith 1/2" (15mm) blank plug and Vent (BOE or TBOE) Other connections available include:- EF, FE, GE, HF, GH and HG - Combinations must be stated at time of ordering

TestingThe standard test pressure is 7 Bar giving a maximum operating pressure of 5.38 Bar.

Dimensional Tolerances Dimensional tolerances are in accordance with EN442.

MaterialsMerriott radiators are manufactured from flat steel tubes, 70mm x 11mm, with a standard thickness of 1.5mm.

MountingMounting supports at the rear of the radiator fix securely to wall-mounted brackets. Floor-mounted supports (feet) are available on request.

Warranty Merriott radiators are guaranteed for a period of 10 years from date of purchase in respect of defective materials and workmanship. The system should be designed in accordance with British Standard Code of Practice for Water Based Heating Systems in Buildings BS EN 12828:2012+A1:2014 and BS EN 12831: 2003. The installation and commissioning of the system should comply with BS EN 14336:2004. On completion of the installation, the system should be properly flushed and filled in accordance with the British Code of Practice for the Treatment of Water in Domestic Hot Water Central Heating Systems BS 7593:2006, Part L of Building Regulations and Good Practice Guidance for Scotland. Merriott strongly recommends the use of corrosion inhibitor for all applications. Failure to observe these standards may invalidate the manufacturer’s warranty.

Merriott offers a high security bracket for horizontal Precision radiators, designed for use in areas where robustness is required and safety is paramount.

This bracket comes in 3 parts. Below shows a side view of how it fits on to the radiator, and the resultant dimension from wall to front of radiator.

Feet Options

Welded FeetThese are factory fitted (welded to the radiator) which minimises installation time for the client. All horizontal and vertical Precision radiators can be mounted on welded feet. Standard feet height is 100mm, however any height can be specified with a minimum height of 50mm.

Bolt-on FeetAll horizontal and vertical Precision radiators, except the H10 and V10, can be mounted on bolt-on feet. Plates are welded to underside of radiator in the factory and the foot installed using M8 bolts onsite (2 per foot). This means the radiator can be removed easily with minimal fuss. Standard feet height is 100mm, however any height can be specified with a minimum height of 50mm.

Merriott recommends that for all radiators with an EF connection configuration the foot height be at least 150mm to allow for valves and others items.

Extended headers with foot mount are available on all horizontal Precision radiators. They are generally adopted when pipework is to be concealed under a raised access floor. Foot height and connection orientation of the feet should be specified at point of order.

The height of the extended header feet is in increments of 72.5mm. Other heights are available on request.

The height of the centre of the connection off the ground will always be 25mm and this connection will always be a 1/2'' (15mm) BSP.

Loose FeetAll horizontal Precision radiators with convector fins can be mounted on loose feet. These are ideal where additional support is required due to the weight of the radiator and integrity of the wall. The feet are secured to the floor and have prongs which fit between the fins and hold the unit steady. Standard feet height is 100mm, however any height can be specified with a minimum height of 50mm.

• Feet options must be specified at the time of order together with connection details, flow and return.• When the overall height of the radiator plus feet exceeds 505mm, wall brackets are required to ensure stability. • For horizontal radiators, the maximum height of radiator plus feet must not exceed 795mm long.

Additional floor bracket option (for support only)

Provides additional support when fixing heavy vertical radiators to existing walls with questionable construction

Top and side grillesTop/side grilles are available at an extra cost. They are only suitable for reduced fin radiators for horizontal models and may be fitted to all vertical models. Please specify at the time of quote.

Series RadiatorsAll Precision radiators can be connected in series by a special connector piece. The maximum length of radiators is 18 metres. Radiators that are joined will have an extra 20mm added on to the length per connector used.

Radiators need to be coded at the time of ordering to ensure correct location for baffles and vents. Please contact your sales office prior to ordering series radiators. Below are four recommended combinations:

The outputs quoted in this brochure are based on a Δ T of 50˚C.

Listed below are the multiplying factors needed to calculate the output at other Delta Ts (ΔTs) between 10˚C and 80˚C. This is done by multiplying your heat output with the appropriate correction factor selected from the table below. Please note more detailed correction factors for Precision products are available from your local Merriott contact.

EXAMPLE:Required Room Temperature = 21˚C, Flow Temperature = 86˚C, Return Temperature = 72˚C

SOLUTION:Mean Water Temperature = (T Flow+T Return)/2 = (86+72)/2 = 79˚CΔT = Mean Water Temperature - Required Room Temperature = 79-21 = 58˚C
