KARELLICENTRE AT THE HEAD OF DEVELOPMENT – AIMING AT A BETTER NORTH KARELIA THROUGH PROJECTS

• The activities and projects involve hundreds of women from all over North Karelia. The project Karelli Model for the World networks women’s own Karelli teams functioning in almost every municipality throughout the whole region. The team members promote issues they consider important in their own municipalities. Through regional networking the team members develop their entrepreneurship, find co-operation partners, join their forces and create more opportunities of living in North Karelia.

• The project Ladies’ Businesses gathers housewives and women living in rural regions from all over North Karelia to Women’s Houses. In the future Women’s Houses will host many kinds of activities and happening supporting local women entrepreneurs. Women’s Houses open their doors also to men e.g. to family training supporting entrepreneurship.

• The communication and marketing project ViestintäViehko increases facilities for

communication and marketing in its target groups, which include the unemployed, entrepreneurs, rural entrepreneurs, housewives and women in rural regions, as well as several other groups. The project activities include training, seminars, thematic meetings and marketing and study trips. The project is also developing an ”Acute Aid” marketing model for the purposes of small-sized enterprises. Women’s entrepreneurship is introduced by producing material for various media.
