Draft Pitch

My magazine is called BassMag. I chose that name because of my music genres it will cover. The music genres I chose to focus on is House, Dance, Techno and RnB. The target audience for my magazine are both male and female from the age 16-25, because I think they are most interested in this kind of music. It will also be reviews on clubs and party tips for your summer holiday on the most popular party places. In my survey, I asked how much they were willing to pay for a music magazine and 2-3 pounds were clearly a favourite so I decided that BassMag will cost 2,99 pounds. The magazine will be available in the supermarkets every month, but there will also be a website where you can read some of the articles from the magazine and a lot of extra things that you will not find in the magazine. Every year there will be a special edition with all the music highlights, special interviews with a very famous artist and a special freebie. The cover will then be a exclusive picture from a concert of the artist in the interview. I chose to do this special edition because there is a lot of people at this age that only buy a music magazine once a year. There will also be chances to win concert tickets, albums and other music prices in every magazine. The style will be cool with fresh colours to match my target audience and genre. There will be about 200 pages in the magazine.

Colour scheme:I chose this colour scheme because I want everyone to recognize my magazine easy with the out sticking colours like orange and purple. I have purple and a light blue colour to make it a bit girly, but the black and orange to make it manly as well. I want the scheme to fit for both, and I wanted to make it cool because of the young target audience. Orange is also a summer colour which fits my holiday and club tips I will have, and orange and purple is often used as light colours for DJ`s as well.

I tried to make the fonts like cool to fit my target audience. It will be young people reading it. The masthead is in a cool, simple technologic font. This is because my target audience care a lot about the newest technologic, and the font reminded me a bit about a robot. The headings are bold and masculine, except for the last one which is more made for the girls. I did this because of my gender. I want it to fit both men and women.

These are the types of images I will use in my magazine. It is high quality live and studio shots. The live shots 1 and 6 is a typical article photo I will use. I will also use studio photos like photo 2 in articles or make a big photo of it as a freebie to the readers to hang up on their wall. While the studio photo 3 is more cover photo and photo 4 and 5 can be sub images I will use in a article about their concerts for example.
