• The genre of my music magazine is going to be pop. I decided to create a pop magazine as I am interested in that type of music so I will know most about it and also because there aren’t many pop music magazines already out there for people aged 15+. I also chose to do pop music because it appeals to a mainstream audience and it is very popular amongst people especially teenagers. The pop music magazine industry makes a lot of money even if there isn’t a gap in the market as many pop music magazines already exist.

Institution that will produce my magazine

• The institution which may produce my magazine would be Immediate Publishing Media Company because it distributes and produces similar magazines such as Top of the Pops. I would like IPC media to produce my magazine as they are a large company who are very well known and are well informed about the genre I have chosen which is pop. They are also the UK’s leading publisher of consumer magazines selling over 350 million copies of IPC media magazines each year.

Double page article• I want my double page spread to feature an interview with either

a solo female singer or a new upcoming boy group. I would like it to be a question and answer style format.

• The reason I have chosen to do either a solo female singer or a new upcoming boy band is because If I choose the solo female singer then the audience can relate to them as they are the same gender however if I choose to do a new upcoming boy band my audience maybe more interested to read the article as they are the opposite gender and girls may desire them.

• My double page article will feature a 60:40 ratio of pictures to text. The left side of my magazine will feature an image of the artist/artists. On the right side will be an introduction on the artist/artists with 4 columns of questions and answers with the image bleeding onto the next page of the magazine.
