Use Instruction

This mask should be used as a complement to recommended hygiene and protection measures as well as to social distancing, vital to COVID-19 pandemic control. For more information, please refer to https://covid19.min-saude.pt. In order to properly handle the face mask, please follow the recommended guidelines of DGS (n’019/2020 of 03/04/2020):

a) Perform hand hygiene, with soap and water or alcohol solution, before putting on the mask;b) Apply the mask with internal part facing your face, and external part facing outside; c) Mould the nose piece to the nasal bridge, covering mouth, nose and chin, making sure to achieve good facial fit; d) Should not touch the mask while in use; in this case immediately hand hygiene should be done; e) It is recommended the use of the mask for a maximum period of 4 hours per day, should the mask be substituted for a new one at the end of that period of time or in case if it gets damp. The mask should be washed before re-using it; f) If by accident the mask gets wet, you should replace it for a new one as soon as possible. The wet mask should be washed and re-used again; g) Remove the mask from behind (without touching the front part), holding the straps; h) The mask should be placed in a closed plastic bag, until it is put in the washing machine; i) Hand hygiene at the end of handling the mask.

Maintenance and cleaning conditions

The mask protection is only guaranteed if their instructions are followed. The mask should be washed using a regular entire washing cycle, at 60’C with detergent, after each use. The user should make sure that the mask is well dry before applying it.

Material composition: 100% polyester

The mask performance is guaranteed up until 5 washing cycles (At this present time waiting approval by CITEV for 30 washes).Also:- The mask should be kept in a dry environment and safe from potential contamination. - The mask should be washed before used for the first time.- In case of defect and/or damage, do not use it, and replace it for a new one

At the end of the mask live cycle, should wash the mask in the condition mentioned above and, after washing, it should be discarded as a non-dangerous textile residue.

Using limitations

This is device is not a medical device. It does not comply with the surgical face mask regulations (UE/2017/745 regulation) or the personal protective equipment (UE2016/425 regulation).The mask should be used well dry after being each wash. If by accident the mask gets wet, you should replace it for a new one as soon as possible. The wet mask should be washed and re-used again.At the end of recommended daily use or every time you return home, the mask must be washed before using it again.
