Picture 1: The kids are in Nazi Germany due to the fact they are heiling. You can tell they are likely school
children due to the fact they are wearing backpacks.
Picture 2: They are in the Vietnam War. It is in a war zone based on how they are dressed. Also, the photo
saturation is of the area.
Picture 3: The religious leaders or officers are dumping out the alcohol. It is clearly seen they are dumping it.

Picture 1: They are not a rich bunch of people just by the location they are in. It does not look to be the
fanciest. They are cooking based on all the utensils and appliances in use.
Picture 2: You have Hitler making himself look gentle based upon the fact he is with such a young child.
Picture 3: Cops are attacking the black community. You can clearly see the police using dogs to attack.
Picture 4: A man has hung himself from the Statue of Liberty. You can see a rope tied around the torch arm of
the statute and it tied around his neck.
Picture 5: A family of immigrants looking at the Statue of Liberty. You can see the statue in the background,
but you can tell by the clothing they are not dressed in American attire from the era.
Picture 6: A group of incoming soldiers are getting there physicals. You can see that there are men in uniforms
present and one of them is examining one of the men.
What message do you think the photographer was trying to convey?

Picture 1: This was likely used as a propaganda image demonstrating allegiance to the party.
Picture 2: A sense of community among the guys pictured in it.
Picture 3: What was going on during this era the fact you have people just joyfully dumping out alcohol while
everyone else just looks at them.

Picture 2: That Hitler has a soft side.
Picture 3: What racism was like in America.
Picture 4: That there is a price for freedom or America is not as great as it seems.
Picture 5: Symbolic meaning that the Statue of Liberty has of hope happiness and freedom.

Picture 1: It is a glimpse at life in Germany during the World War 2 era.
Picture 2: Because it shows us some of the people of the Vietnam War.
Picture 3: It shows how the two different groups felt during this era of America.

Picture 2: We can see how this image could sway people into thinking he was not that bad.
Picture 3: It allows us to see what it was like back then; that racism was brutal at one point.

the greatest place on earth.

Picture 1: See if it is possible to find out if it was a professional image or if it was amateur. If it was
professionally done you could likely find the history of the photographer and found out why he was asked to
take it.
Picture 2: Find who took the photo. If it was published, you could find out that part and if they was in the
military with these guys.
Picture 3: Research the era and see if a news report could be found on this incident because this was possibly
a published picture.

at work or at home.
Picture 2: See if you could figure out what this picture was used for and learn if it was used in a source of
propaganda.
Picture 3: See if there was police records on this incident that would give the most insight into this.

most insight into this.
Picture 5: The photo is likely taken at Ellis Island and or at least they migrated. If so, the museum there likely
has some kind record on the family and possibly the picture.
