WHY SUSTAINABILITY?
❖ The Travel & Tourism sector accounts for 10.4% of global GDP,
& one in every 11 jobs worldwide.
❖ 8% of global Co2 emissions stem from our sector, and of these
8% - about 20% are attributed to hotels directly
❖ Studies have shown that the hotel industry must reduce its
absolute Co2 emissions by 66% by 2030, and by 90% by 2050
in order to achieve the two-degree target of the Paris Climate
Change Agreement of COP21 (ITP)
❖ According to a survey undertaken by Hilton Hotels in 2019, 88%
of guests appreciate and actively look for sustainably managed
hotels and 66% are willing to pay more for this feature
❖ Approximately 50% of all employees want to work in companies
with an environmental strategy

OUR APPROACH
The Considerate Group’s approach to CSR strategy can broken
down into three key elements:
1) Strategy development: We co-create a CSR vision, mission
and overarching commitments with management-level
stakeholders. This encourages senior staff to take
ownership of CSR, driving accountability throughout the
business and supply chain.
2) Strategy implementation: We know the hospitality industry,
and consequently strive to engage with operational staff in
person. This facilitates efficient knowledge transfer, and
allows staff to feel empowered and supported.
3) Continuous improvement: We establish regular milestones,
monitor progress and provide feedback. This drives
behavioural change – a pre-requisite for CSR success.
