WEEK 10 TERM 4 Commencing Monday 17th December 2018
Welcome to the final week of the 2018 School Year. It has been an incredible year of achievements and experiences for our children and broader community, much of which will be recognised this evening at Presentation Night and through the distribution of our School Magazine Parkview In Print which can be collected from the rear of the LHSMPC this evening and also from the School Administration Office from Tuesday morning. If you haven’t ordered a copy of Parkview In Print, limited additional copies are available on a first come, first served basis. Last week was an incredible week for our children with so many amazing things experienced. The Term 4 Reward Day was enjoyed by all students last Monday whilst Wednesday was one of the real highlights of the school year with the hosting of of our Kindergarten 2019 Transition Graduation during the day before we farewelled our Class of 2018 in style on Wednesday evening with our Year 6 Graduation Dinner which was a wonderful way to farewell a terrific group of young adults. The Year 6 Slave Day was hosted on Thursday for all children. ‘Slaves’ were used in a variety of roles to help with end of year activities and to enable students to have a little bit of fun with our Year 6 role models. Thanks to the generosity of the community Year 6 were able to raise over $1700 for the Year 6 gift to the school which will be presented at Presentation Night this evening. What an amazing effort! Friday saw us host our biggest ever Captains Elections process with 42 students taking the risk to put themselves up for election as a school leader for the 2019 school year. All children and indeed parents can be justifiably proud of the effort put into this process. We are blessed to have an outstanding cohort of Year 5 students to step into leadership roles in 2019 and I look forward to seeing all members of the class of 2019 stepping up to be fine young role models for their peers throughout the year. The announcement of 2019 School Leaders and House Leaders will be made tonight at Presentation Night. Saturday evening in Mountford Park saw the continuation of the community tradition of Carols in the Park. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our Combined K-6 Choir for representing our school at this event. This week we farewell Year 6 Cohort, the Class of 2018. We wish this amazing group of kids all the best for their next adventure and remind them they are always welcome back in the Parkview community. We will watch with interest and with pride as they embrace the next chapter of their lives. We have one week to go, 3 special days with 417 awesome kids. Please consider the following as you plan your week: Presentation Night A reminder to all interested community members that Presentation Night will take place this evening (Monday, 17
