Join us for Session 5, Conquest & Judges, and Royal Kingdom of this 8-part study to understand the Bi-ble. Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible helps you uncover the story woven throughout Scripture. This time we will be studying the Israel-

ites entering the Promised Land and God establishing a King-dom in Israel. Get the “big picture” of the Bible so it’ll be easi-er to understand what it’s all about. The Bible is a story about the Father’s unfailing love for you—a love that you’re bound to

share with others. Next meeting: Wed, May 15, 7:00pm, St. Mark’s Social Hall

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY. We began our Divine Mercy Novena on Good Friday.

Jesus himself requested, in a 1931 visit to Sister Faustina Kowalska, that the Sunday after Easter be the Feast of Mercy. St. Faustina wrote that Jesus told her: “On each day of the novena you will bring to My Heart a different group of souls and you will immerse them in this ocean of My mercy.... By this

novena I will grant every possible grace to souls” (Diary 1209, 796).

Sister Faustina was a young lady in Poland during the 1930s. She came from a poor family that struggled during the years of World War I. She had only three years of education, and could barely write. Hers were the humblest tasks in the convent, usually in the kitchen or garden. However, Jesus chose her to receive extraordinary messages, asking her to record these experiences. She compiled them into notebooks, known today as the Diary of Saint Maria

Faustina Kowalska.

In 1936, Jesus said to her, “My Daughter, do whatever is within your power to spread devotion to My Divine Mercy, I will make up for what you lack.”

Faustina died, age 33, October 5, 1938. She was canonized a Saint on April 30, 2000.

Act of Family Consecration to Divine Mercy

O Jesus, Divine Mercy, we consecrate our home life to you. Into your hands we place our past,

our present, and our future. Look after us and help us

be a family of Mercy,

putting your love into practice: in how we help one another,

how we speak to one another, how we welcome guests and share with others.

May Your Divine Mercy be the Rock on which our family is built:

our joy in life, our hope in death and our glory in Eternity. Amen.

THANK YOU to all who helped us to celebrate the Great Easter Triduum. Special thanks to those who helped create an atmosphere appropriate for following

Christ through his Passover mystery: the choirs, the decorators, the servers and all who pitched in with the many details.

An extra-special thanks to Brooke Beyer and Rodney Bursinger, along with your sponsors and loved ones who joined you as you received the Sacra-ments and became members of the Catholic Church. Our prayers are with you for the lifelong journey ahead. May your example remain fresh to us of what a

great gift our Catholic Faith is.

May Our Risen Lord reward with profound TRUST all you who contribute to making known the truth that he is ALIVE and active in our midst.

CLERGY CONTINUING EDU. Every Spring the priests of the Diocese of Fargo gather in Carrington for continuing education.

The speaker this year is Fr. Sean Kilcawley, who will speak on Healing and Ministry instruction for Pornography problems, and the Safe Haven Sunday materials we distributed to our families on March 2-3. Tuesday morning, Scott Hoselton will speak on retirement planning and answer questions related to the new tax forms/code. Tuesday afternoon, Ashley Grunhovd will speak about last December’s Convocation and help us hold onto the seeds planted there for our

parishes and the Diocese.

UNPLANNED. I see over at the Botno theatre the poster for the movie Unplanned, but I haven’t been able to find out

when it is showing.

Unplanned tells the real-life story of Johnson, the former director of a Planned Parenthood clinic who became an anti-abortion activist. The film beat all box office expectations after its March 29 release. The film cost $6 million to make,

and made that back the very first wkend.

The new trend of creators for pro-life movies like Unplanned are pursuing a different approach. They’re us-

ing storytelling to change people’s minds on abortion.

“What we liked about Abby’s story is it kind of covers both extremes and the middle of the abortion issue,”

Joe Knopp, producer for Unplanned. “There’s an on-ramp for whatever you believe or what you think you believe.”
