FAPA is pleased to present auditions for Thoroughly Modern Millie, Jr. to be presented in its entirety on November 14 & 15, 2014 and cut to take to the Junior Theater Festival on January 16-18, 2015.

This will be a very small cast of only approximately 20-25 students, ages 10-18. It is our intention to provide a safe, nurturing environment for the students auditioning so that they feel successful and empowered regardless of whether or not they are cast in the final Troupe. Please understand that this will be a very competitive process as there are dozens of students auditioning and a large number will not be cast in Millie due to space restraints. Auditioning is a vital part of the process of participating in any theatrical experience, so we want to help your child have as positive an experience as possible even in the midst of what is somewhat a nerve-wracking process. We will maintain a calm, positive, encouraging environment on Saturday; being mindful of the students’ nerves and differing levels of preparedness.

In the event your child doesn’t get cast, please note that we have two other opportunities to perform this fall. Our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students are invited to participate in Seussical, which will rehearse on Thursdays from 5:00-6:30pm and perform in December and our 6th-12th grade students are invited to participate in Elf, Jr, which will rehearse on Thursdays from 6:30-8:00pm and perform in December. Everyone who signs up for one of these shows will be cast in a role in the show. Students will audition for specific parts, but no one is cut from these performance ensembles, so they are the perfect place to gain more experience as a performer. Additionally, we have a great number of classes and programs lined up for fall in all areas of theater...including musical theater, acting, improv and dance. Registration is open for new students.

Being cast in the FAPA JTF Troupe is an honor and a privilege and a commitment of time and energy...please make sure you and your child understand this commitment before auditioning.

Authorization to Consent to Medical Treatment

I (We), the undersigned, do hereby authorize representatives of FAPA (such representatives to be employees, directors, Auxiliary members or identified volunteers) to serve as agents for the undersigned to consent to any X-ray exam, anesthetic, medical or surgical diagnosis or treatment and hospital care which is deemed advisable by and is to be rendered under the general or specific supervision of any physician or surgeon licensed under the provisions of the Medicine Practice Act on the medical staff of any hospital licensed by the State of Georgia whether such diagnosis or treatment is rendered at the office of said physician or at said hospital or some other site. It is understood that this authorization is given in advance of any specific diagnosis, treatment or hospital care being required, but is given to provide authority and power on the part of the aforesaid agent to give specific consent to any and all such diagnosis, treatment or hospital care which the aforementioned physician in the exercise of his best judgment may deem available. I (We) also understand and agree that FAPA will not be held responsible for injuries which occur to self/child while attending or participating in any FAPA function. This authorization shall remain valid for the duration of the participant's current registration with FAPA.

General Policies for Forsyth Academy of Performing Arts JTF Troupe

WITHDRAWAL POLICY

Those cast will be notified by May 24th via email. Once the list is announced those choosing to participate must email their acceptance in a timely manner to notify the Directors of their intent to participate. The Troupe Production Fee of $160 will be due in full by June 30th.

If you withdraw from the Troupe after June 30, 2013 you will receive a refund of half of the production fee

If you withdraw from the Troupe after August 1, 2013 you will receive no refund.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Absences are HIGHLY discouraged. Students who miss more than three rehearsals will be excused from performing at the Junior Theater Festival. These students may still attend the festival with FAPA, but they will not be allowed to perform.

2 tardies of 15 minutes or longer = 1 absence.

TUITION AND ATTENDANCE

The Troupe will participate in the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta January 16-18. 2015. The cost of of JTF admissions is $230.00. This includes all access to the conference, a festival t-shirt, lunch on Saturday and Sunday, a souvenir program, and a special direct-from-Broadway performance. IT does NOT include transportation, lodging or other meals. The JTF Fee of $230 will be due by September 15, 2014. Parents are welcome and invited to attend JTF. The cost of attending the conference is the same for parents or performers.
