Fire Rings:Material: Two Types- Stainless Steel (FRS series) & Cold

Rolled Steel (FR series).Standard Sizes: Round: 6” ~ 48” in 6” increments. Square: 12”, 18”, & 24” (double ring) Rectangle: 12x9”, 18x15”, & 24x21”

(All have ½” hub except for the 48” ring- ¾”)

Ports: Ports are staggered for better flame pattern.

Larger Capacity 31”, 36”, & 48” (3/4” Material)


Match Lit Pit Kits:Material: Two Types- Stainless Steel (FPS) & Cold Rolled Steel

(FP).

Components: Fire ring, manual valve w/ polished flange/key (#336), nipples, fittings, and lava rock.

Standard Sizes: All round, square, & rectangle sizes. Installation: Install in-ground or in enclosure using materials

provided (many use optional pan).LP: Small tank- Use FPLP Kit- includes regulator, hose,

air mixer / orifice, and fittings. Large Tank: Use a FPSLPK series kit- air mixer

(#127) & coupler.


Manual Ignition Fire Pit Kits: FPPK Series

Introduced Sept. 2006; Mid-range, drop-in kit. Uses switch for spark & thermocouple flame recognition.

Components:

- Copreci 100k Btu Valve (#900)

- Spark Generator (9v)

- Spark Igniter & Thermocouple

- Flat SS Pan & Fire Ring

- SS Valve Box, hard pipe & flex line.


FPPK Series:Standard Sizes: FPPK18: 18” pan, 12” ring

FPPK24: 24” pan, 18” ring.

FPPK30: 30” pan, 24” ring

Installation: Normally mounted in enclosure- bowl, pot, or other.

Operation: Flip switch for spark, start valve as normal safety pilot valve.

Advantages: Great if need flame monitoring & NO A/C power.


Electronic Ignition Fire Pits:• Started manufacturing ~ 6 years ago.• All come fully assembled, tested, & ready to drop-

in.• Also come with Template, Vinyl Cover, DVD, &

Remote or Wall Switch.• Has grown incredibly over the past 2 years.• Std. pits range in size from 13” ~ 43”, 90K ~ 300k

• Fire Pit- Major Components: (cont’d)– Valve Box- Internal components:

Control Valve / Module: Use 150k or 300k valve.

Transformer: 24v w/ 40 VA power rating.

175º Snap Switch: In-line with 24v power to valve.


• Component Purpose:Control Valve: Used to control gas to pilot; Also gas

to main burner via signal from remote location- primarily remote control or wall switch.

Control Module (in valve): Provide ignition sequence, flame monitoring, and safety shutoff for fire pit.

Transformer: Steps down 115 VAC to 24v to power control valve and module.

Pilot Assembly: System uses Hot Surface Ignition (HSI) method. There is no standing pilot- turns off when main burner turns off.


• Why New Hot Surface Ignition system?

1) Ignition- Use silicone nitride element- no spark loss due to moisture or poor connections.

2) Improved stability of flame rectification current

due to grounding fork.

3) Continuous re-light (never locks out)

4) Wires integrated into head of igniter.

5) Module integrated into valve- less wiring.

6) Improved production efficiency to offset SS cost.


• Fire Pit- Operation Sequence:

1) Gas and power are turned on at remote location.

2) Unit On: Remote control or wall switch signals control module to cycle unit “on”.

3) Pilot Lights: HSI element glows, pilot gas valve opens.

Note: 90 second total cycle; element will turn off after 30s, then back on the last 30s of cycle)

4) Pilot Flame sensed- HSI element “off”.

Uses flame rectification- pilot flame creates path for 1.5 micro A to return to module;

5) Burner lights: Main valve opens.

6) Unit Off: Main valve stays open until remote signals control module to turn “off”.

Note: If pilot flame is lost, main valve is closed- then back to step 2.

Warnings: - Must be electrical (wall switch for outlet) and gas shutoff exterior to the fire pit.- Always use proper materials for gas supply, power supply, and enclosure. Enclosure should be

stable & non-combustible.

Warranty Requirements:- Never install fire pit below ground level.- Enclosure must have 2 openings - 18 sq. inches to allow heat to escape from void space around

valve box.- Interior void space around valve box can not be

filled in w/ any material; Should have 6” clearance.


Installation of Fire Pit:

Warranty Requirements:

- Fire pit assembly must be recessed minimum of 4” from top of enclosure.

General:

- Connect flex line to gas line securely- turn on gas and check for leaks.

- Connect power to fire pit on Honeywell units.

- Fill pan with lava rock or glass.


Fire Pit Operation:Warnings:

- Prior to use, confirm all gas connections have been checked for leaks.

- When fire pit is not in use, gas and power must be turned off.

- Leaves, sticks, wood, paper, etc. must be kept clear and out of fire pit. No cooking.

- Do not use solid, Non-porous rock such as gravel, pebbles, river rock, etc..

Fire on Water Exclusive to HPC! HPC has designed true “Fire on Water” without the issues of sooting & nuisance drop out. Our custom system offers the highly desired remote controlled, electronic ignition– just hit switch and watch your water effect come to life. Also unique to HPC is our new electronic ignition system which incorporates flame recognition via a thermocouple! The advantage to this is minimal sacrifice in performance in wet or windy conditions due to flame recognition being thermally controlled– not by weak milliamps like all other EI systems offered. Ignition is provided by a rugged hot wire ignition system which again is unaffected by moisture.
