Let the presence of the risen Lord

Come renew my heart and make me whole

Cause Your word to come alive in me

Give me faith for what I cannot see

Give me passion for Your purity

Holy Spirit breathe new life in me

Holy Spirit come abide within

May Your joy be seen in all I do

Love enough to cover ev'ry sin

In each thought and deed and attitude

Kindness to the greatest and the least

Gentleness that sows the path of peace

Turn my strivings into works of grace

Breath of God, show Christ in all I do

Holy Spirit from creation's birth

Giving life to all that God has made

Show Your power once again on earth

Cause Your church to hunger for Your ways

Let the fragrance of our prayers arise

Lead us on the road of sacrifice

That in unity the face of Christ

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your

yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the

Prophets. (St. Matthew 22:37-40)

Priest. Let us pray

Praying together

The Collect for the Persecuted Church

O Lord God, whose Son Jesus Christ suffered and died for us and in

His resurrection restores life and peace to all creation; O Lord God,

our Redeemer, Defender, Protector, and Avenger, we pray for Your

people who are victims of violence and hatred and are oppressed

and injured by their fellow humans. Give strength and encourage-

ment to them by Your Holy Spirit. Look upon them and help us to

honor in our hearts those who have died and are suffering in Your

service. Comfort their families and give them courage. Thwart the

oppressors and call them to repentance, but if they will not repent,

we commit them to Your justice. All this we pray through the same,

Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

The Collect for the Feast of Pentecost

Almighty God, on this day you opened the way of eternal life to

every race and nation by the promised gift of your Holy Spirit: Shed

abroad this gift throughout the world by the preaching of the Gos-

pel, that it may reach to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ

our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy

Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Psalm: Psalm 104

25 O Lord, how manifold are your works!

in wisdom you have made them all;

the earth is full of your creatures. 26 Yonder is the great and wide sea

with its living things too many to number,

creatures both small and great. (Antiphon) 27 There move the ships, and there is that Leviathan,

which you have made for the sport of it. 28 All of them look to you

to give them their food in due season. 29 You give it to them; they gather it;

you open your hand, and they are filled with good things. 30 You hide your face, and they are terrified;

you take away their breath,

and they die and return to their dust. (Antiphon) 31 You send forth your Spirit, and they are created;

and so you renew the face of the earth. 32 May the glory of the Lord endure forever;

may the Lord rejoice in all his works. (Antiphon)

there is a big parking lot. The Mad River shelter is closest to the parking

lot and the river.

Hope4 Riverside Our parish is working together with a group of pastors and City of River-

side officials to do some joint projects which we believe will make a

difference in our surrounding community. It is exciting to see all these

churches come together for a common goal! The first joint project will be

a school supply collection in which all the churches in Riverside will partic-

ipate. Final collection day will be July 26, and the actual distribution will

be made by the Mad River School personnel. Bring your school supply

contributions and place them in the box at the back of the church. We

will be collecting from now until Sunday, July 26.

In coming months, we will also be participating in collection of hats,

gloves, and mittens (October) and socks (March). This is an outstanding

way of sharing and spreading the love of Christ to our neighbors, and a

great opportunity to show Christian unity.

Home Group A Home Group is starting! Once a month, a home group will be held at

one of four host homes. All are welcome to join in for a dinner, devotion,

and fellowship evening. The first group will be held on Friday, June 19 at

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven

and earth, of all that is, visible and invisible.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally

begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God

from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father;

through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he

came down from heaven, was incarnate from the Holy Spirit and

the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified

under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the

third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he as-

cended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his

kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who pro-

ceeds from the Father [and the Son], who with the Father and the

Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the proph-

ets.

We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We

acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for

the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

Amen. The filioque [and the Son] is not in the original Greek text. Nevertheless, in the Western Church the filioque

[and the Son] is customary at worship and is used for the explication of doctrine [39 Articles of Religion].

The operative resolution of the College of Bishops concerning use of the filioque is printed with the Gen-

eral Instructions at the end of the Holy Communion, Long Form.

The Prayers of the People

Let us pray for the whole state of Christ’s Church and the world.

Almighty and ever-living God, in your holy Word you have taught

us to offer prayers and requests, and to give thanks for all whom

you have made. We appeal to your mercy, Gracious Lord, that you

might hear our prayer.

Reader. Lord, in your mercy,

People. hear our prayer.

10

Inspire your universal Church by your Spirit, granting that all who

confess your holy Name may agree in the truth of your holy Word

and live in unity and godly love.

Give grace, heavenly Father, to all Bishops, Priests, and Deacons,

and especially to your servant(s) Foley, our Archbishop, Royal, our

gan Bishop, that by their life and teaching, they may proclaim your

true and life-giving Word, and rightly administer your holy Sacra-

ments.

Reader. Lord, in your mercy,

People. hear our prayer.

Help us to fulfill your great commission; making disciples of all na-

tions; teaching them to obey all that you have commanded.

Reader. Lord, in your mercy,

People. hear our prayer.

We ask you to rule the hearts of all who govern us, (our President,

the Congress, the Supreme Court, our Governor and our military

leaders) . May they administer justice, govern wisely, and strive for

the welfare and peace of the whole world.

Reader. Lord, in your mercy,

People. hear our prayer.

Grant your heavenly grace to all people, especially these gathered

here, that with meek and reverent hearts, we may hear and trust

your holy Word, devoting our lives to your righteous service.

Reader. Lord, in your mercy,

People. hear our prayer.

We humbly ask you, gracious Lord, to comfort and strengthen all

those who, in this earthly life are in trouble, sorrow, need, sickness,

or any other adversity.

**Reader. I invite you to add your own requests at this time.**

Reader. Lord, in your mercy,

People. hear our prayer.

We bless your holy Name for all your servants who departed this

life in your faith and fear, praying you would grant us grace to fol-

low their good examples, that with them we might partake in your

heavenly kingdom.

Reader. Lord, in your mercy,

People. hear our prayer.

Grant these our prayers, O Father, for Jesus Christ’s sake,

our only Mediator and Advocate. Amen. The Confession and Absolution of Sin

We pray to you also for the forgiveness of our sins.

The Deacon and People kneel as able and pray

Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in

thought, word and deed, by what we have done, and by what we

have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we

have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and

we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mer-

cy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk

in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

The Bishop or Priest stands and says

Almighty God, our heavenly Father, who in his great mercy has

promised forgiveness of sins to all those who sincerely repent and

with true faith turn to him, have mercy upon you, pardon and

deliver you from all your sins, confirm and strengthen you in all

goodness, and bring you to everlasting life; through Jesus Christ

our Lord. Amen.

Congregational Offertory

And He Shall Reign

You were raised with power, ascended on high.

You were given power and authority supreme.

You have given power to us that we might know you.

You have conquered all the enemies that face us

And have claimed your throne as ruler of the nations.

We believe your word and heartily agree.

Let your kingdom come, beginning with me.

We have come from every nation now;

With a new song we will sing.

When the seventh angel sounds aloud,

You will hear our voices ring.

The kingdom of this world is become, is become

The kingdom of our Lord, the kingdom of our Lord,

The kingdom of Christ

And He shall reign, (and He shall reign)

And He shall reign, (and He shall reign)

And He shall reign forever and ever! Words and Music by Jamie Soles. All rights reserved. Used by permission.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for feeding us with the spiritual

food of the most precious Body and Blood of your Son our Savior

Jesus Christ; and for assuring us in these holy mysteries that we are

living members of the Body of your Son, and heirs of your eternal

kingdom. And now, Father, send us out into the world to do the

work you have given us to do, to love and serve you as faithful wit-

nesses of Christ our Lord. To him, to you, and to the Holy Spirit, be

honor and glory, now and forever. Amen.

God.

People. It is just and right so to do.

14

It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to

give thanks to you, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord; according to whose most true

promise, the Holy Spirit came down from heaven, lighting upon the

disciples, to teach them, and to lead them into all truth; giving

them boldness and fervent zeal constantly to preach the Gospel to

all nations; by which we have been brought out of darkness and

error into the clear light and true knowledge of you, and of your

Son Jesus Christ,

Therefore we praise you, joining our voices with Angels and Arch-

angels and with all the company of heaven, who forever sing this

hymn to proclaim the glory of your Name:

The Prayer of Consecration

Almighty God, our heavenly Father, in your tender mercy, you

gave your only Son Jesus Christ to suffer death upon the cross for

our redemption. He offered himself and made, once for all time, a

perfect and sufficient sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. He

Fill this land

With the Father's glory

Blaze Spirit blaze

Set our hearts on fire

Flow river flow

Flood the nations

With grace and mercy

Send forth Your word Lord

And let there be light

Lord I come to Your awesome presence

From the shadows into Your radiance

By the blood I may enter Your brightness

Search me try me consume all my darkness

Shine on me shine on me (Chorus)

As we gaze on Your kingly brightness

So our faces display Your likeness

Communion Songs

With All My Heart

With all my heart I thank You Lord

With all my heart I thank You Lord

For this bread and wine we break

For this sacrament we take

For the forgiveness that You make

I thank You Lord

With all my soul I thank You Lord

With all my soul I thank You Lord

For this vict'ry that You've won

For this taste of things to come

For this love that makes us one

I thank You Lord

With all my voice I thank You Lord

With all my voice I thank You Lord

For the sacrifice of pain

For the Spirit and the flame

For the power of Your name

I thank You Lord

For this bread and wine we break,

for this sacrament we take.

instituted this remembrance of his passion and death, which he

commanded us to continue until he comes again. So now, Father,

we ask you to bless and sanctify, with your Word and Holy Spirit,

these gifts of bread and wine that we may partake of his most

blessed Body and Blood.

On the night that he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus Christ took

bread; and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and gave it to

his disciples, saying, “Take, eat; this is my Body which is given for

you: Do this in remembrance of me.”

After supper, Jesus took the cup, and when he had given thanks,

he gave it to them, saying, “Drink this, all of you; for this is my

Blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for you, and for many,

for the forgiveness of sins: Whenever you drink it, do this in re-

membrance of me.” Therefore we proclaim the mystery of faith:

Celebrant and People praying together

Christ has died.

Christ is risen.

Christ will come again.

The Celebrant continues

Lord and heavenly Father, with these holy gifts we celebrate the

memorial instituted by your beloved Son, remembering his passion

and death, his resurrection and ascension, and his promise to come

again. Grant that by his merits and death, and through faith in his

Blood, we and your whole Church may receive forgiveness of our

sins and all other benefits of his passion, making us one body with

him that he may dwell in us, and we in him. And here we offer to

you, O Lord, ourselves, our souls and bodies, to be a living sacrifice,

through Jesus Christ our Lord. By him and with him and in him, in

the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honor and glory is yours, Almighty

Father, now and forever. Amen.

Lord’s Prayer The Celebrant then says

And now as our Savior Christ has taught us, we are bold to sing,

Celebrant. Alleluia, Christ our Passover has been

sacrificed once for all upon the cross.

People. Therefore let us keep the feast. Alleluia!

The Prayer of Humble Access Celebrant and People praying together

We do not presume to come to this your table, merciful Lord, trust-

ing in our own righteousness, but in your abundant and great mer-

cies. We are not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under

your table. But you are the same Lord, who always delights in

showing mercy. Grant us, therefore, gracious Lord, so to eat the

flesh of your dear Son Jesus Christ and to drink his blood, that our

sinful bodies may be made clean by his body, and our souls washed

through his most precious blood, and that we may evermore dwell

in him, and he in us. Amen.
