Stewards Serve Others “For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters. But do
not use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh; rather
serve one another through love.” Galatians 5:13
We like to celebrate the fact that we are free to “live the good
life.” But Jesus calls us to Stewardship. St. Paul reminds us
that Jesus sets us free so that we can serve one another, share
our gifts and promote God’s work here on earth to glorify His
name and not honor ourselves.

Priestly Vocations Prayer for Priestly Vocations
“Lord Jesus, we ask you to bless the Diocese of Camden with an increase of vocations to the priesthood. We pray that young men
from our parishes and families will hear your call and be both generous and courageous in their response. May more young men
serve you as priests who teach the faith, preach the Gospel, celebrate the sacraments and make you present among us through their
ministry. Encourage them to embrace the joy-filled and fulfilling life of a diocesan priest. May parents support priestly vocations in
their families by prayer and good example. We entrust these prayers through Mary Immaculate, our patroness, hopeful that you will
bless our diocese with more priests in the near future…who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.”
How will I know I am called?
To be precise, a man only “knows” he is called when he is ordained! However, there are many positive
signs that can point to a vocation, and which can help a man make the decision to enter the seminary and continue
along the path towards the priesthood.
Read these statements to yourself, take them to prayer, then act on what you know is right.
God knows, you may be called to the priesthood!
A personal relationship with Jesus Christ is important to me.
People have told me I would make a good priest.
I’ve hidden vocation material under my bed and in my desk.
Going to Mass and Adoration is a very important part of my faith life.
The thought of becoming a priest keeps coming back over and over again.
I’m afraid to tell my friends and family that I’ve been thinking about the priesthood.
I feel called to give more of myself to others.
After hearing the readings at Mass I think about how I would preach.
I have a burning desire to help people get closer to Christ and to know the Truth.
I have a strong sense that what I have planned for the future is not what God has planned for me.
