Shakespeare (Literature GCSE)
You are going to study two Shakespeare plays: ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and ‘Othello’
You are going to write a Controlled Assessment essay at the end of this term about the difficulties some of Shakespeare’s women characters face in the two plays.
This is worth 25% of your English Literature GCSE and you have up to 4 hours to write it.
Group Task
On your table, allocate one person to each of the following roles:
Resourcer – makes sure you have all you need for the task, such as pens and paper
Facilitator – makes sure everyone knows what to do and keeps on task
Checker – makes sure the task is completed fully
Reporter – at the end, tells the rest of the class what the group has done
Story TimeI am going to read you a story now. At the end, your group/table needs to produce the following:
A title

At least 5 bullet points
At least 1 diagram
At least 3 questions
You can choose how to present this – either as a display on A3 sheets or a written piece to read out. You will have 20 minutes to do this.
