1 OS-Easy OSS Installation for MBR bios

1) Express install: When your hard disk installed Operating System, and you do not want to change or destroy the original hard disk data, you can use this installation method, the original data on the hard disk can be intact. The system will automatically set the C drive as the A-type boot partition, which is [Instant restoration boot partition]. 2) Custom Install: OS-Easy OSS using the built-in hard disk partitioning tool to repartition the hard disk partition, the original hard disk data will be destroyed, you can divide into multiple boot partitions, private data partitions, and share data partitions, and set the attribute, partition size, file system, restore type, or buffer for each partition.

1.1 OSS installation(For MBR bios setting)

1.1.1. Install low-driver:

There are two different ways to install the low-driver: in DOS or in Windows. You can choose one of them to install it.(Recommend to use the DOS)

1.1.1.1. Install low-driver in DOS

(1) Single OS: Install the low-driver in the computer that had OS, and you don¡t want to change or destroy the original data. First:Set CD-ROM as the first boot in Boot Sequence in BIOS, as following pic:

Second:Insert CD to CD-ROM. Third:Read the CD, start to install. Fourth: Choose the ¡Express installation¡, click ¡Enter¡, you can finish the installation.

Note: After finishing the installation, the partition C is 【Instant restoration mode】and other partitions are 【Private data mode】.

(2) Multi OS: Install the low-driver in the computer that had no OS, and you can divide the hard disk into multi partitions and install multi OS. First:Set CD-ROM as the first boot in Boot Sequence in BIOS, as following pic:

Second:Insert CD to CD-ROM. Third:Read the CD, start to install. Fourth:Choose the ¡Custom installation¡, click¡ Enter¡, come to the ¡Disk info¡ page.

Fifth:You can format and repartition the disk for the multi-OS partitions.

Note: use ↑↓←→to select, press ENTER to change. (You can refer to the detail explanation as the Prefix 1)

Then you can install the OS by the following steps:

First : Choose a partition, press ¡Enter¡, tip: ¡Missing operating system¡

Second:Press ¡Ctrl+ Alt+ Delete¡ to restart the computer.

Third:Set CD-ROM as the first boot in Boot Sequence in BIOS. Fourth:Insert the OS CD to CD-ROM. Fifth:Read the CD, start to install the OS. (Note: please choose the selected partition to install the OS) Sixth: You can repeat the steps to install other OS.

1.1.1.2. Install the low-driver in Windows

Precondition: The computer had OS, and is single OS. First:Open the installation program, find the LowDrv-WinInstall. Second:Double click the ¡LowDrv¡ program.

Third:Select ¡Install¡ to continue the installation.

Fourth:Choose the ¡Express installation¡, press ¡Enter¡, you can finish the installation.

1.1.2. Install the Win driver

The Win driver can only be installed in the Windows. First:Select the OS in the boot menu of the DOS to Enter. Second:Open the installation program, find the Software-Winprogram. Third:Run the ¡Setup¡ to install the Win driver.

Forth:Choose the functional platform and CTSC client modules during the installation. (CTSC client installation will make this computer been controlled by the CTSC management side program.)

Fifth:Set the link IP for CTSC program, this IP is the computer which had installed the Central Server program of CTSC.(After the installation, you can see the Windows icon for

OSS like the picture shows )

Sixth:Choose a computer that has not installed the CTSC client program. Seventh:Open the installation program, find the Software-Winprogram-CTSC, run Ctsc_Multi.

Eighth:Choose CTSC Management Side and Central Server side to install, and set the computer¡s IP the same as the step Fifth.

Instant Restoration Mode Partition OS-EasyOSS modes explain When installed the DOS and Windows driver of OSS, the operating system can be protected and restored normally. The use of OSS has restore, write in, reserve, open modes. Several Restore System operation modes analyze:

The operating system can be protected and restored normally when installed the Dos and Windows driver. To Restore System, there are several hotkey operations like Restore/Write in/reserved/Open mode. In the showing pictures, protected area means the protected data in the Operation System partition; Operating area means the user¡s operation after entering the system, such as the use of software, add/remove software, and install/delete files. A. Protected mode

Select a system to enter in protected mode (directly by the Enter key), you can execute any operation in the system, just restart the computer, and press Enter key to enter the system, all of the previous operations will be restored immediately. B. Open mode

Select a system to enter as Open mode (by Ctrl + Enter key to enter), you can execute any operation in the system, after restarted the computer, and press Enter key to enter the system, all of the previous operations will be saved in the disk. C. Manually writes in mode

Select a system to enter in protected mode (directly by the Enter key to enter), you can execute any operation in the system, after restarted the computer, and press Ctrl+B key to enter the system, all of the previous operations will be saved in the disk. D. Manually Restore Mode

When the system¡s restore type set as ¡manually¡, all the operation in Operating System will be reserved, if we want to restore Operating System to the initial state, just press Ctrl+R(Restore) key to clear all the operating data, system will restore to the initial state. E. Reserved mode

Select a system to enter in protected mode (directly by the Enter key to enter), you can execute any operating in the system, restart the computer, and press Ctrl+K(Reserved) to re-enter Operating System, the previous operations will be temporarily retained in the hard disk until after restarting to enter in protected mode(directly by the Enter key) system will be restored to its original state. Appendix 2 Options explain: Attribution (Partition Type): Means the partitions¡ restore type. It contains the following method: Ⅰ. Instant Restoration Mode Partition(A): Within this partition type, all changes will be instantly restored to its original state with a simple reboot. Various restore period are provided, including Not Use, Every, Manually Daily, Weekly, Monthly. Supports Dos/Win98/ME/NT/2000/XP/ Win7/Win8. Ⅱ. Backup Restoration Mode Partition(B): Setup this partition type, you can backup data manually, or restore the original data with preset schedules. Support all Operating Systems in the market. Ⅲ. No Restoration Mode partition(C): This partition type is totally open, no protection or backup function is provided. Any changes done in this partition will permanently remain. Ⅳ. Private Data Partition(P): This partition type will only be visible for the boot partition (Type A/B/C) with the same name in the setup menu. It will be invisible when booting from any other partitions. This is excellent for constantly changing data that is exclusive to one OS. (Logs, etc.) For example, if the name of boot partition is 【WinVISTA】, then the name of its private data partition must be 【WinVISTA】 as well. Ⅴ. Shared Data Partition(S): This partition type will be visible for every booting partition, Excellent for sharing data between different OS, every OS can visit it, like partition D/E/F. Ⅵ. Hide Partition(H): This partition type will be invisible for every OS.

Name: it is used identify the Operating System in Hardware ¡OS selection menu¡. The length is 1 to 10 characters. The name of ¡Type P¡ is to confirm which booting partition (Type A) is followed, it must be the same with the booting partition (Type A). If the name of ¡Type P¡ is different with ¡Type A¡, this partition will be unavailable for any operating system. The ¡Share data partition¡ name can be set at random. Size:Partition size can set as xxxxxM, if it is set down, it could not been changed unless you want to repartition the disk. File System: Choose appropriate file system for each OS. After Fdisk, Hardware will auto judge the file system for every OS. FAT32: Support WinNT/2000 versions (Recommended) FAT16: Supports hardware under 8.4GB. Total partition size cannot be more than 2000MB. NTFS: You¡d better choose this method for more than 30G partitions, supports WIN NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista/Win7 EXT: It is suit for LINUX main sector document system. SWAP: It is suit for Linux exchange sector file system. Restore Period: System data recovery period a. Instant restoration mode partition:

Not use: not restore and not use auto clear Every: The system will be instantly restored to its original state with every reboot. Manually: Every access writes to the hard disk will be kept temporarily. The system will

be restored to its original status by pressing 【Ctrl+R】 by password. Daily: The system will be instantly restored to its original state at the first boot of every

day. Weekly: The system will be auto restored to its original status at the first boot of every

week. Monthly: The system will be auto restored to its original state at the first boot of date 1st

every month. b. Private data mode partition:

Unprotect: Not Use restore function With System: Private data partition will follow the restore period of its boot partition.

c. Share data partition:

Not use: not restore and not use auto clear Manually clear: Every access writes to the hard disk will be kept temporarily. The

system will be restored to its original status by pressing 【Ctrl+R】 by the password.

Every: The system will be instantly restored to its original state with every reboot. Daily: The system will be instantly restored to its original state at the first boot of every

day. Weekly: The system will be auto restored to its original status at the first boot of every

week. Monthly: The system will be auto restored to its original state at the first boot of date

1st every month.

Buffer: Hardware absorbs the ¡Buffer Auto Enlarge¡ technology, it combines with Static and Dynamic buffer, when the Static buffer is used up, Hardware will auto assign the Dynamic buffer, never blue screen happens. Type A (Instant Restoration): Maximum size is 9993MB and Minimum is 101MB. Default value is the Minimum size. Recommend to set a larger size if the hardware space is big enough.

Type B (Backup Restoration): Requires a buffer zone that is equal in size to the protected partition as the backup buffer. The buffer zone will be automatically reserved within the remaining not partitioned hard disk space.

2 Deploy computer lab environment

OS-EasyOSS software has the network Add Clone program, you can network install the Operating System, Software and manage it at any time. It only clones the different data between Master PC and Client PCs. It is suitable for the following solutions: Fast broadcast whole hard disk data Fast broadcast one partition data Fast Add clone different partition combination Fast Broadcast the installed/uninstalled software Fast broadcast software upgrading and different kinds of Mend Add clone the change and optimization of OS and software Clear virus and upgrade Virus library Clone a single file Deploy temporary research/training/exam computer environment First, you must install the Operating System and software by theOSS ¡Express install¡ or ¡Custom install¡, and set as ¡Master PC¡.

2.1 Enter Add Clone

Set all clients¡ BIOS as NIC precedence, and enable ¡PXE BOOT ROM¡, set all clients¡ mainboard BIOS ¡First Boot Device¡ as ¡LAN¡. As in following picture: Note: the PXE show name may be different for different mainboards; the detailed settings please refer to the machine mainboard instruction.

After installed the Operating System, the needed software and OSS, set this computer as the Master PC, then press 【F10】 when the OS-EasyOSS ¡OS selection menu¡ appears, input the ¡user name¡ and ¡password¡(default user name is ¡sys¡, password is empty ), enter 【Settings】, choose 【Addclone】, and click 【Wait for login】. It appears as follows [Pic 2-1]:

Explain: Client PC:Set this computer as Client PC, prepare to receive data. Wake up on LAN: Remote start the computers by the Master PC, you do not need to start one by one. Please note by using this function: 1) Use ATX POWER. 2) The main board must support Wake up On LAN. F2 restart: you can restart this computer by pressing F2 in this menu. F3 power off: you can power off this computer by pressing F3 in this menu.

2.2 Enter Client PC

If the Client PC not install driver. 1. In the first installation menu, client PC can auto reply the login requirement from the Master PC, it will automatic search and login the Master PC 2. In the Dos driver installation menu, please press F1,Client PC will automatic search and login the Master PC If the Client PC has installed driver 1. Restart computer, client PC will auto inspect the Master PC (auto link function is available) 2. Press F1 during the ¡OS selection menu¡ you can manually enter into receiving state; or press F10 to enter ¡settings¡, choose ¡Add Clone¡, and set as ¡Receiving PC¡ (auto link function has unavailable)

2.3 Grouping

You cannot choose when some computer is gray. When the needed computers are all logged in, click 【finish login】will appear the following [Pic 2-2]:

Group Name: Group name is used during logging in. Only computers in this selected group can login. Many groups can be set for separation purposes. Different group could not add clone to each other.

PC Name: Set aComputer Name for a PC, [IP allocate] function will set this PC name as the first and auto create names for other PCs by the Login sequence. So the all PC name will be assigned before booting Operating System.

IP: Assign aIP address for a PC, [IP allocate] function will set this IP address as the first and auto create IP for other PCs by the Login sequence. So the all IP address will be assigned before booting Operating System, not need to assign IP one by one again.

2.4 Set Occupy PC

When modify multi Operating Systems¡ IP addresses, some computers may not be able to login for malfunction. You can reserve IP to them (set as Occupy PC), which confirm the IP sequence not in disorder. After Net Clone finished, the IP addresses do not need to modify if you use the IP Fixing. In the Master PC【wait for login】 menu, when a computer need to reserve IP, click its number, choose 【set as Occupy PC】 in the pop up column, then this IP will be reserved, the next computer will auto allocate the next IP, as the [Pic 2-3] shows:

2.5 Send Data, Command and Modify IP

You can send data to all the online computers as the menu in the following [Pic 2-4]:

Explains: Cancel login: Cancel online status, and back to the 【wait for login】 situation [Client PC]: Set this computer as Client PC, prepare to receive data. Send data: send data to all the online computers. Click ¡send data¡, it will pop up the following [Pic 2-5]:

Clone system partition parameter:Select this means to clone system parameter and partition information. Every partition cloning/only clone effective data: in the data sending, it is cloning the whole partition space or only cloning the effective data (actually data occupied space).(recommend to use ¡effective data¡) Local disk duplicates: process the local disk duplicating, (please refer to part 6) The PC operation after cloning (none/power off/restart): pre-establish the Master PC and the linked Client PCs operation after the selected data cloned: none/power off/restart Choose OS and partition:Click the Operating System name in the ¡OS and partition¡ on the left of [Pic 3-5], select the sending data partition in the list(C:/D:/E:¡). Choose share partition:Click ¡SHARE¡ in the ¡OS and partition¡ on the left of [Pic 3-5], select the sending share data partition in the list(the share data partition name in the Fdisk menu). Note: in the first Add Clone, please select all the parameter partition and all the system partition, and then execute Add Clone! Click ¡OK¡, pop up the following [Pic 2-6]:

Wake up on lan:Remote start the computers by the Master PC, you do not need to start client PCs one by one. Remote shutoff:Shut down all the online computers. Remote reboot:Reboot all the online computers. Remote lock:Lock all the online computers¡ keyboards and mouse (except Master PC). This function stops mis-operations to the Client PCs during the net clone process. IP Allocate:Based on the Master PC, OS-EasyOSS SW can auto create the IP and PC name one by one according the login sequence, so the PC names and IP addresses will be auto created.

All the online computers will be shown in the column, click ¡Auto IP Allocate¡ to set IP and PC name for every computer, manually modification is supported. Adjust:OS-EasyOSS SW can intelligently adjust options by the different network environments, which make Add clone in an excellent status, lose packet, and lose connection will never happen again. 2.6 Hard disk duplicates

OS-EasyOSS SW provides the Local disk to Local disk, partition to partition duplication. The source disk is the first disk (MASTER) in first line (IDE0), and the target disk is all the disks connected to the PC(maximum supports 8 disks). After connected all the disks, press F10 in the ¡OS selection menu¡, input administrator¡s user account and password, click [Add clone], and [Finish login], as showed in [Pic 3-5], select ¡Local disk duplicating¡, and select the OS and partition you want to copy, click [OK], OS-EasyOSS SW will auto analyze the disk info and copy the selected data to target disk.

2.7 Clone continuous

When we are processing Add clone data, some PCs may offline for some reasons, so you can use Clone Continuous function to go on cloning. It can auto identify the Receiving end (Client PC), and send the data that is not sent in the last time, you do not need to resend the sent data.

2.8 Add clone the changed data

1. Operate as you need in the Master PC ↑/↓ to select the OS in the “OS selection menu”, press Ctrl+Enter (Administrator’s mode), input User Account and Password, delete/install software, change regedit, and then restart computer so that all the Changed data will be permanently saved in hard disk. 2. Execute Add Clone In the ¡OS selection menu¡ of Master PC, press F10, input User Account and Password, then enter into [Add Clone], click [Sending PC] to wait for the Receiving PC(Client PC) to login.

When all the Receiving PCs(Client PC) login, click [Finish login], and then click [Send data], OS-EasyOSS SW will auto analyze the HD and send just send the Changed data to all Client PCs.(For detail, please refer to Point 5 in this Chapter)

3 Activation

1. After installed OS-EasyOSS software, you must activate the products for long-term using, otherwise, the use will be limited by time, as shown in [Pic3-1]:

4.2 User management

OS-EasyOSS software has the Multi User management function, which can set several administrators¡ user accounts and passwords, every administrator can be assigned with different property for OS-EasyOSS software operation. Super administrator can assign one part of the property to different persons, which can realize multi person management of the Computer lab.

4.4 Disk Info

The size setting cannot be changed after Save and Exit. To change the partition size requires you to use FDISK again in ¡Settings menu¡. All data in hard disk will be destroyed if FDISK is used. Changing File Systems is also not recommended unless you are installing a new OS in that partition. All other fields can be changed as your will.

4.5 Add Clone

Uninstall OS-EasyOSS software as the [Pic 4-7] shows: Select Operating System Select the related OS you want to execute the uninstall method on the left of the OS selection box in [Pic 4-7]. Uninstall mode selection Only uninstall Win driver: only uninstall the Windows Driver in the operating system, the Dos driver will not be uninstalled. Backup uninstall: save the current data of HD and then uninstall. Restoration uninstall: restore the data of the last state and then uninstall. 5 OS-EasyOSS function platform

5.1 Channel management

OS-EasyOSS software includes the ¡One OS and Multi Channels OS technology¡, it offers the administrator create 256 different Channel OS from one real OS. Create 256 different Channel OS(everyone has different software environment installed), and every Channel OS could be sole protected and recover. Channel OS not only satisfy the different software installed in different OS in all kinds of teaching, but also totally solve the problem of Software conflicting in one OS installation. Moreover, administrator does not need to install Multi OS any more, reduce the work of computer lab maintenance, and every Channel OS does not occupy disk space, which is useful for saving hardware equipment. Windows OS Channel management is based on the DOS OS channel management function, the interface is friendlier than the bottom, more convenient operation, the main features are: create OS channel, delete OS channel, edit OS channel, enter OS channel. Note: use ¡Channel OS¡ and ¡V irtual System¡ function, you must layout the PC by ¡Custom Installation¡ and ¡Express Installation¡ first, OS can be protected and restored normally.

5.2 Virtual systems function and purpose

Virtual System technology offers the administrator to create 512 Virtual System in the real protected OS, it only use several second to create a Virtual System, and do not occupy disk space. The data changed in Virtual System will be permanently reserved, not affect the restoration and protection of real OS. Virtual system technology authorizes the students to have a personal computer in computer classroom, in one hand it provides students an open, freedom learning environment, easy to install software, save the data, have their own curriculum and design, and other personalized action to stimulate the students interest in learning, improve the learning efficiency; in another hand, real systems in computer lab are still able to be protected to achieve a perfect room and unified management.

5.2.1 F4: Virtual System management in DOS

Create a ¡virtual system property¡ user in the [User management] by F10 [settings] menu, it shows in [Pic 5-21]:

5.2.2 Virtual system management in Windows

5.2.2.1 Obtain virtual systems management authority

Virtual systems management authority must be offered by system administrator¡s setting in DOS menu, the system administrator can offer students¡ PC management account to create virtual system based on one or multiple operating systems in order to achieve the effect of category management. Each virtual system manager¡ rights are equal. One virtual system manager could not manage the virtual systems which are created by other managers.

5.2.2.2 Virtual System Management verification & main interface

5.3 Add clone instructions

5.3.1 Add clone function and usage

Net copy is one of the most characteristic and widely used functions of OSS, especially targeted at schools, enterprise and other large-scale objects requires unified deployment for terminals or clients, some of the superfluous, inefficiency work can replace with copy operation to work, use this function to implement, and effectively manage and reduce staff repeated invalid workload in computer room. Add clone function is not simple net copy, which only copies the hard disk discrepancy data between sending computer and receiving computers, save copying time. Through the installed application state of one computer, add clone renewal all this state to all other computers in network so that all the operating system and application of all computers in the computer room maintain consistency, and it can synchronize computer name and IP address at the same time.

Remote restart: Remote restart all the logged in receiving PCs. Remote Shutdown: Remote shutdown to all the logged in receiving PCs; Cancel Login: Cancel the login operation to all the computers which have logged in the sending PC, and clear the log information list.

5.3.3.3 The Add clone operation

The operation of Windows Add clone is almost the same as the DOS Add clone function. Not only it has all the DOS Add clone function, but also it expands in some places. Here we introduce the operation as follows.

5.3.3.4 How to log in, occupy and appoint Link NO.

After verified the administrator account, click <wait for login> button, the sending end will enter into login state, it means receiving ends can be logged. As shown in Picture [Pic 5-47]

5.4.1 Fdisk function and purpose

5.4.6 Modify partition type

1) Partition type can be modified to any type, corresponding is A/C/P/S/B/H attribute in DOS menu of Hardware, the first four types can be modified by the partition type changing directly; 2) The H type modification is different with the other four partition types, it is only used by the affiliated partitions (example: P (private data partition)/S (share data partition) have its bootable partition in an Operating system, so P/S partition are the affiliated partition of

boot partition.). You can select ¡ ¡ to Hide or show the partition in operating system.

3) Type B supports forward modification, but not support reverse modification. That mean other types could not change to type B, and when type B change to other types, the backup disk space for Type B will be hidden, and it could not be used after the DOS

5.4.7 Modify partition name

Modify partition name, you modify the partition name by entering characters manually to the selected partition. When you modify bootable partition name, the affiliated partition ((example: P (private data partition)/S (share data partition) have its bootable partition in an Operating system, so P/S partition are the affiliation partition of boot partition.)) name will auto change to the affiliated bootable partition name. The private data partition name could not be changed, share data partition name modification only changes its identity.

5.4.8 Modify restore period

5.5 Document backup, File penetration, Update virus database

5.5.1 Document backup, File penetration, Update virus database brief

introduction

On the condition of system is protected, you can backup a certain type of files to an unprotected partition; so that the content of a certain type of files or an entire folder can be saved and updated forever; the specified anti-virus software¡s virus database can be upgraded automatically, which is not affected by system restoration.

5.5.2 Document backup, File penetration, Update virus database

purpose

On the condition of system is protected, set the specified file format stored in unprotected partition, then the type of file can be automatically saved in unprotected partition. The Open directory function allows setting exception files and folders in protected Operating System so that the files and folders can be saved and updated in the future. In the past recovery solution, if the computer had installed Kaspersky, Mcofeeetc antivirus software, the virus database will be updated daily, but it will be restored after the system is rebooted. Now, OS-EasyOSSprovides Update virus database feature, even if anti-virus software installed on the protected partition, updates the virus database data can be permanently written to disk, the virus database will never be restored!

5.8 Modify login username

5.8.2 Login Username Operating Instructions

Make sure all machines installed OS-Easy windows driver; already add cloned one time,

and has been done normal IP address and computer name modification, IP assigned as

static IP address. Then takes the following steps:

1. Manager mode (CTRL + ENTER) to enter the prototype that system needs to modify

prefix, suffix digit, suffix starting value; in the "new user name corresponding password

setting"interface, set to change the password after the user name here with the default

Settings" column is set to modify the user name of the machine range (there are two

basis: According to the order of the assigned computer name or IP address

order),maybe some local IP is not assigned, or use DHCP, but the computer name has

allocated, then you can choose according to the computer name)

5. After the new user name rules set up, click on "Preview", information about the new

settings, see the "new user name preview."

8. Use this modified sample machine for prototype (the sender), add clone to other

machines (if machines haven¡t use OS-EasyOSS to assign IP address computer

name, need to allocate, and the rules of the IP address or computer name must be

with same range of generate rules files as step 5. All machines restart automatically

after modifying IP and computer name will automatically execute Rename calls to

modify the user name, and then will automatically restart.

9. Through above ways to make sure computer name, login user name are automatically

modify as required after transmit system IP.
