    OD interventions are basically methods

    for increasing participation.

    Examples are autonomous work groups,

    quality circles, team building, survey

    feedback, quality of work life programs,

    search conferences.

    TEAMS AND TEAMWORK

    Work team are building blocks oforganizations.

    Team are important for a number of

    reasons.

    first, individual behavior is rooted in the

    socio cultural norms and values of the

    work team. Second ,people must work together to

    accomplish the task goal

    Third, teams create synergy.

    Fourth, teams satisfy peoples need forsocial interaction, status, recognition,

    and respect-nature human nature.

    PARALLEL LEARNING

    STRUCTURES

    DALE and ZAND introduced this concept in1974 under the label collateral organization

    This defined it is a supplemental organization

    coexisting with the usual, formal organization. The purpose of the collateral organization is

    to deal with ill-structured problems the formal

    organizations is unable to resolve.

    Parallel structures are a vehicle for learninghow to change the system, and then leading

    the change process.

    This help people break free of thenormal constraints imposed by the

    organization, engage in genuine inquiry

    and experimentation, and initiateneeded changes.

    Parallel learning structures are often the

    OD is based on primarily on a normative-reeducative strategy and secondarily on arational-empirical strategy.
