00:09:05 From a global perspective, each country is fully supported from a data and processperspective. Here we provide 2 examples, one for Germany, one for the UK, of the type ofdata that is tracked at the country level.

00:09:24 Pay statements or remuneration statements are customizable and can be designed to suitthe specific layout, branding and details that is needed to fit your requirements.

00:09:39 To provide you with an idea what type of tasks you as a customer can expect to performwith our standard easy payroll solution and to distinguish it from a service bureau or

business process outsourcing-type of offering.

00:09:55 You will need to perform initial configuration of the payroll to match your specific businessneeds as well as configuration required to adapt to changes into your business

00:10:08 such as a merger or a split after the initial implementation. You will also still need to submitpayroll runs, reports, and inspect the results.

00:12:16 As well as the editing, error checking, and corrections of the data, it is often a manual andvery, very time-consuming effort.

00:12:26 So the Payroll Control Center seeks to bring many of these functions together in a singledashboard-like interactive screen. The key takeaways, if it comes to a Payroll ControlCenter, are:

00:12:26 And to give you a couple of examples here: I see, for instance, here my informationregarding W4 and W5.

00:12:32 So I can easily open up that information from here, and there we go. So what that actuallyis: I've logged in our Core HR solution called Employee Central,

00:12:41 and that is connecting perfectly to our underlying payroll system. So the information that yousee here is coming straight out from the payroll solution.

00:12:50 So I see, for instance, that I have a couple of W4 statements here - one is a federal one,and one is the one of Massachusetts.

00:12:57 And I can easily go over and look at the details there as well. And now I see in the bottomall the details where I can put in validation date,

00:13:06 I can change the status or withholding of adjustments. So all the information that I needhere from a payroll point of view is in front of me.

00:13:13 Keep in mind if you are the HR administrator or if you are a payroll administrator, there is noneed any longer to go to two different systems.

00:13:21 You have access to our SuccessFactors solution where you have your talent managementsuite, where you have your core HR suite,

00:13:26 and where you have now Employee Central Payroll as well. I'll give you another example.

00:13:32 And the other example is, for instance,related to tip indicators, and there we go, really

specifically for the US.

00:13:39 Open up the information, it is now collecting the data from our payroll solution and there wego. Everything that I need is just in front of me - I can run it straight from here.

00:13:49 Finally, I will show you something about gross and net calculations for the pay slip. Sostraight from here I can open up the pay statement.

00:13:58 You can imagine if you are making this functionality available for your end users, for youremployees, then they can just get their pay slip or mine

00:14:06 without any intervention from your HR team. And here I see my pay slip.

00:14:11 And if I scroll down a little bit, I see my gross pay, I can see my net pay, I can see mydeductions.

00:14:16 So all the information that I need to make my calculation from a gross salary into a net

salary are here.

00:14:21 And I have even options here to print it, download it, or whatever. My second example is anexample of a UK payroll.

00:14:31 So, let's look at one of my subordinates. And his name is Colby Evans, and he is workingand living in the UK.

00:14:40 So the first thing that you will notice here is that the payroll information of Colby is lookingslightly different, because he's working and living in the UK.

00:14:49 So all the information is based on the local law and local legislations in the UK. So I cansee, for instance, here information related to National Insurance.

00:15:01 So, let's open up the insurance data for Colby. That was not available for the US, but it'svery important in the UK.

00:15:08 And that is what I see here. I have straight insight in his social assurance which was linkedto his account.

00:15:16 Another thing that I can see, for instance, is my Pension Funds, collecting data from ourpayroll solution, and there we go.

00:15:31 And here we have the pension data in front of me where I have in a pension schemenumber 1 what was valid from 2014 up to now.

00:00:52 We are going to have a look at the system and I come to show you how we can add adeduction. So administrators then can create one-time or recurring deductions,

00:05:23 So this screen layout is something that you can manage yourself. You can drag and dropfields from one place to the other place if you'd like to do so.

00:05:33 Another thing you can do, you can just hover over and look at the details of a field. If you'dlike to show the label, if the field is required, yes or no.

00:05:41 So all the attributes that you need for this are available here. I can even link it to a rule aswell.

00:05:48 So our rules engine has great capabilities. If this field needs to behave slightly different inone part of the world, you can do that.

00:05:57 Or if you would like to make a difference between your blue-collar workers and your white-collar workers, you can utilize the rules engine to do so.

00:06:27 Let's open up the Manage User Interface Rules. So I can go in here and add user interfacerules as well.

00:06:35 So based on our rules engine, I can add rules how our user interface should behave. So Ican hide fields, I can include fields, exclude fields, based on preset rules in the system.

00:06:56 Maybe you don't want to show all the fields to the externals. You can utilize our rules engineto do so.

00:07:07 And here you can see that I can add the properties of this whole component as well. I canchange the layout offered - if it is a form layout, for instance, or a flow or a grid.

00:09:28 Let's first look at some Eligibility For Advances. And let's go to personal loan for the US.

00:09:45 Again here, what you can do, you import the user interface to the solution and you can startworking with this.

00:09:53 And this is the place where you as an end user can create those country-specific advancesinto the solution.

00:10:01 Let's have a look at the one which I created just earlier on. This is an Eligibility For Advances, it's a personal loan in the US.

00:10:09 So what does that mean? The moment that I created one I can put in an Eligibility ID

00:10:15 that I can recognize it later on, Enable Auto Recovery, Yes or No. Do I would like to link thisone, for instance, to an automatic deduction plan, Yes or No.

00:10:25 Is there a workflow linked to it? Do we need an approval workflow on top of that?

00:10:31 But also information like an effective date: By when should this advance type be accessiblein the solution?

00:10:38 But also things like an Advance Type: Which kind of advance type is this? Is it an advancetype of personal loan, is it a bonus or whatever?

00:10:46 And this is an important part because this one is linked to our role-based permissionframework.

00:10:51 So at the end of the day, if this is part of employee self-service, the employee will only seethis advance type if he or she has access to the advance type here.

00:11:02 And that is something that you manage in the role-based permissions. I can even link it to apay component type and send that to your payroll solution if you want to.

00:11:11 And here, very important, is my Legal Entity. So I link it here to the Legal Entity USA.

00:11:18 That means this advance type is only available for employees who are linked to thecompany in the US, to the legal entity Ace USA.

00:11:26 I can even link it to a Pay Grade if I would like to have this available only for pay grade 6and above, for instance.

00:11:32 I can put in other rules as well, for instance, the Maximum Eligibility Amount/Percentage,that's maybe 10,000.

00:11:38 The Currency is USD. And the Maximum Eligibility of Currency is 5. So that means in myexample here you see, in

00:04:38 roughly seventy percent of companies use a specialist provider. While HR systems cansolve some of the puzzle, they don't solve it all.

00:04:49 When we look at our competitors, customers instead of using their HRMS-based benefits,they use a specialist provider, often Benefitfocus.

00:05:00 So, how does that work in our solution? So what you see here is the homepage of BrendaDavis.

00:05:06 And Brenda Davis has just become part of our organization. And one of the things that shewould like to do is check out her benefits.

00:05:14 So on her homepage there was a link to her benefits. So if she goes there, the system willconnect from the SuccessFactors solution

00:05:22 straight into the Benefitfocus solution. So there is one user experience for Brenda availablehere.

00:05:28 She has the welcome videos from Benefitfocus available and she can also enroll now inBenefit programs.

00:05:35 Let's have a look at that. So this will open up her Benefits program profile,

00:05:41 where she sees her profile data, which is maybe not maintained in Benefitfocus. Thatinformation is maybe coming from SuccessFactors into Benefitfocus.

00:05:50 And here she can view the profile, enroll into benefits, and so on, and so on ... This was justan example how we perfectly integrate

00:05:58 with our strategic partner Benefitfocus. Okay, now let's take a look at a couple of othercountry examples,

00:06:12 using the SuccessFactors Global Benefits solution. Over the last year we have built out

00:06:18 significant global benefits capabilities in SuccessFactors Employee Central. We willcontinue to provide our customers

00:06:26 with transparency and insights in their benefits from around the world, whether it's acomplex car allowance in the UK,

00:06:36 a festival allowance in India, a superannuation in Australia, or time accounts in Germany.

00:06:42 We got the global picture. Let's have a look at a couple of country examples.

00:06:49 And my first example is an example for an employee working and living in Germany. So firstlet's log in as Miss Baker,

00:07:00 and there we go ... Jada Baker. Okay the system is opening the landing page for Jada here.

00:07:08 And let's see what this Global Benefits means for her. So, this is her landing page, she is anemployee in the organization

00:07:17 and she can go straight to her benefits section. And within the benefits section you seeinstantly

00:07:23 that those benefits here are linked to her situation in Germany. Jada is working in Germanyand that is the reason

00:07:31 that she has for instance current benefits available, like Transportation Ticket in Germany orChild Care Allowance in Germany.

00:07:38 There's clear insights in what money is left in our pot. And you can see, she can still claimfor instance 1,000 euros on transportation.

00:07:46 There are also some claims in process, like the relocation to Germany that is still in

progress and needs to be approved maybe by the management team.

00:08:37 This is just an example how it could work for Germany. Let's have a look at a couple ofmore examples.

00:08:42 Let's look at an example for Australia for instance. And there we go.

00:08:55 It is one global solution, so you will find out that it is exactly the same look and feel, but yousee different content there because this employee is coming from Australia.

00:09:11 So here we see all the benefits, which are linked to Australia. I see also that I have the Australian Dollar linked to it; there is a meal allowance available here.

00:00:33 describe how global benefits needs can be managed on one Core HR platform, be able toupdate and configure country- based eligibility rules for specific benefits,

00:00:45 but also describe how to add the Leave Travel Allowances benefit for India. So first of all wedo a little bit of a recap of what we saw last week.

00:00:56 So we are going to look at the benefits of one of the employees. And further on we aregoing to see how we can tailor that, how we can make it a little bit more specific for yourorganization -

00:01:06 how we can change, for instance, eligibility rules. And at the end of the course I am going toshow you an example of the Leave Travel Allowance for India as well.

00:01:18 But before I begin the demo, let's take another look at a short video. Adama is a majorplayer in the agro-chemical industry.

00:01:32 We have over 50 subsidiaries globally in over And we have over 4,500 employeesworldwide.

00:01:42 Only recently, Adama announced the acquisition of ChemChina subsidiaries. Once theintegration happens, we'll double our headcount.

00:01:53 So the HR was called up to support the business transformation. And by forming a globalHR function, we wanted to have one unified infrastructure,

00:02:07 one global focus - so one global company. First, to be able to see a full picture of who weare.

00:02:15 In the first phase, we did a kind of a pilot in three major companies in different regions. Thesecond phase included all the other subsidiaries globally.

00:02:28 The benefit is to have one global database that will support the talent processes. and willenable us to have workforce planning.

00:02:41 SuccessFactors made our lives as global HR and also as local HR much easier. It has itsown seated localization within the system.

00:02:53 And it helps us to accommodate local needs and, of course, local language.SuccessFactors is a very user-friendly system.

00:03:05 It was easy to implement. And the benefits from having a cloud solution are fast deploymentat relatively low costs.

00:03:14 You can start with whatever modules you are ready to start with - PerformanceManagement, Goals Management, Compensation, Succession and, most important,Employee Central.

00:03:26 Once you have a solid infrastructure in place, it will be much easier to have those acquiredcompanies on board. It's easier to retrieve data; it's easier to get a full picture on time about

our workforce.00:03:42 It's easier to analyze and to plan accordingly. I'm definitely happy with the results coming

from the SuccessFactors projects.

00:03:50 I see the benefits, and SAP helps Adama run simple. Okay, so let's have a look at thedemo.

00:04:12 So for this example, I have logged in into the solution as an HR administrator because thosestars are maybe consumed as a little bit more technical, but it is not that difficult.

00:04:23 It is quite easy to create based benefits and global benefits into our solution. And I have acouple of great examples for you.

00:04:31 But before we go there, let's have a look at what does it mean for the end user, what is thelook and feel for the end user. What are we going to try to build with those global benefits?

00:04:39 So we are going to log in as one of our employees who is on an assignment: Jada. She iscurrently on an assignment in Germany.

00:04:49 Logging in as Jada will open up her login page. And there we are.

00:04:57 I go to her Benefits. And the first thing what I see is her benefits in Germany.

00:05:02 Maybe you recognize this from last week. So I can see her reimbursement, travel ticket inGermany, the claims, but more important, I see the enrollments.

00:05:10 And one of the enrollments is the car allowance in Germany. Let's have a look at that one.00:05:17 And this is actually what we are going to do during the exercise today. We are going to have

a look on this specific benefit.

00:05:23 How we have created this benefit, what was needed in the system to do so. As actually justa few places where you have to put in some configuration.

00:05:31 For instance, what we are going to do, we are going to put in the benefit type. Which kind oftype it is.

00:05:37 We are going to connect it to a pay component as well, and how that works together. Wewill put in an eligibility rule on top of that to identify the entitlement amount

00:05:47 because it could be a fix amount, or it could also be something what is entitled by thesystem based on seniority in the organization or your grade level and those kind of things.

00:05:58 Let's go back to My Benefits. I'm not going to save this one for now.00:06:03 And another thing what you see here as well that this is truly a global solution here. I can

toggle between her home and her host assignment as well because she was on her globalassignment, I told you that earlier on.

00:06:12 So if I go back to her main employment in the US, then she has benefits there as well. Andthat is typical of what you are doing:

00:06:20 If you are on a global assignment, maybe some of the benefits, maybe your original pensionscheme, is still paid by the home, while the host is taking care of car allowance, schoolingallowance and those kind of things.

00:06:30 And we typically can cater for that because that is what you see here. I can see, forinstance, her relocation benefits, what she got form the US in order to move on to Germany.

00:06:40 Great insights here. Let's go back as the HR administrator.

00:06:46 So as an HR administrator there are typically a few steps what you need to do before youcan start working with global benefits. First of all what you need to do, you need to makesure

00:06:56 that you have access to the solution, access to our global benefits solution. So you have toactivate this.

00:07:01 So the moment that you have done that, you need to start working with our templates, thetemplates for global benefits. The same what we did earlier on for the deductions, you candownload the templates from our Success Store.

00:07:15 So there is no need to start from scratch - you can download it from the Success Store andyou start from there.

00:07:20 Secondly, what you do, you make sure that you give the right permissions to youradministrators before you can start. I have done that work already for you today, so we willstart from creating the master data.

00:07:31 Creating the master data is an important thing. And one of the elements of the master datais our pay components. I told you that earlier on.

00:07:39 So I go to my Admin Tools or my admin center, and I go to my pay components. And therewe go.

00:07:48 Because we need to add a couple of pay components into the system. There we go. Andlet's go to.

00:07:54 I'll show you a couple of existing pay components which I have already set up in thesolution. And let's stick to examples of car because we all love cars.

00:08:02 And there we go. So I go to, for instance, my Car Allowance in Germany.

00:08:35 For instance, you see here the Euro. If I toggle back, for instance, to my example of carallowance for the UK,

00:08:43 you see already more or less the same data, but now you see the currency is in BritishPounds. So that is also a way how you can differentiate from country to country where youhave also different rules and legislations.

00:08:55 So let's assume that we set up all those pay components. The next step what you typicallydo is then set the permission rights:

00:09:01 Who can see and edit those pay components? That is a step what you typically perform inour role-based permission solution.

00:09:10 So the next step here is go back to Admin Tools. And let's have a look at a couple of other

elements which we need for car allowances.00:09:22 I go to Benefits Admin Overview. This is actually the place where you can register all your

benefits.

00:09:29 And first of all, I am going to search for car. A couple of basis elements what you maybeneed to enter to the system is, for instance,

00:09:39 my cars of my car providers in my example. My car providers are maybe AVIS orLeasePlan.

00:09:48 It could also be things like: Which cars are allowed for your employees to select on if youhave a car policy?

00:09:55 In my example here I can go for a Nissan, a Toyota, and a Volkswagen. And this is whatyou see later on if I enroll someone in a program here, then those are the cars which arepopping up.

00:10:05 So this is all the basic data what you need in the system. If you have done all these things,then you can start entering the benefit itself into the solution.

00:10:15 Let's have a look at that. We all do it from the same screen by the way.

00:10:19 It's easy, it's simple. Here we go.

00:10:24 And we have here the car allowance for Germany and the one for UK. First, we are going tolook at the one for Germany.

00:10:31 And there we are. All the benefits details which you saw earlier on on the screen from Jada,

00:10:39 but now from an administration point of view. So I can see the Benefit Name, I can see theBenefit Type -

00:10:45 in this case it is an Allowance, but it could be a Reimbursement, it could be a Pension, anInsurance. The Benefit Short Description; I can link it to a Benefit Program where I cangroup together multiple benefits.

00:10:58 I can put in Benefit Payment Options. And here you see the link to my Pay Component whatwe had just entered into the solution as well.

00:11:05 And the payment method here is via Payroll. What I said earlier as well, but it could also bea Bank Transfer, or Cash, etc. etc.

00:12:12 And Additional Benefit Fields: So I can also add additional benefit fields to the benefitscreen here. So you'll remember earlier on that we created some car types and those kindof things.

00:12:23 So you can add those specific fields to the benefits solution here. I can put in UsefulContacts. Those are available for the end user.

00:12:33 So in this case this is Tessa Walker. She is our single point of contact. And we have herethe Benefit Documents.

00:12:38 So those are the supporting documents which are helping the employees to make the rightdecision if they are going to opt in for these benefits.

00:12:49 The same example is available here for the car allowance for the UK. But you see then thatthe information is maybe slightly different.

00:12:57 So maybe the entitlement rules are slightly different. Maybe the supporting documents are

slightly different because it is a different entity within your organization.00:13:04 But the setup is exactly the same - global solution, again. So you see how easy this is.

00:13:14 Because if you have done this, it works fine. This one will now be available for theemployees, and they can start enrolling themselves into those benefits.

00:13:21 We can enhance the solution a little bit more if you wish to. So one of the things what youcan do, you can Configure Business Rules.

00:13:31 And let's go there. Let's go to my Configure Business Rules, there we go.

00:13:37 And look at one of the business rules which I have briefly set up. So one of the businessrules is the Car Allowance Amount.

00:13:43 You'll remember earlier on that it was 500 euros for the German car allowance. But maybeit's not always 500 - sometimes maybe 250, another was 750.

00:13:52 That is something that you can create via our rules engine. Our rules engine has a greatuser experience.

00:13:58 So what I can see here is that, for instance, if I'm a permanent employee, if my carallowance is in Germany, if I'm working for the BestRun company in Germany

00:14:09 and if I'm working in the business unit Corporate, then my entitlement amount should be750 euros. In other cases, if I am a contractor and if I am working in Germany, then I haveonly 250 euros available for me.

00:14:27 And in all other cases, it will still be 500. So you can see how flexible it is, and you can keepthis in mind if you configure your rules for your organization.

00:14:37 It is flexible, it is easy to use. Another example is, and that is something what you remindmaybe from the deductions from last week,

00:14:48 is our Manage Configuration User Interface. You are also in control of what the user cansee and cannot see from a user interface point of view.

00:14:58 So let's have a look at My Benefits. So let's create a benefit here, and this is actually thepage where you can set up all the configurations for it.

00:15:10 You have seen that last week. And so, what I can do, for instance, I can go in here and Ican look at, for instance, Manage User Interface Rules.

00:15:20 So here I can show claim pension information in certain cases. So this information shouldnot be available always, but only in a certain situation.

00:15:29 So I can go in here and I can set all those kinds of rules. If the pay component is, forinstance, linked to a pension schema, then make sure that those pension fields areavailable.
