Adyontoges of the D. ZUIKO Wide Angle lensOne of the moior reosons for toking pictures is to record life os it exists. Thecomero lens is like our eyes. We wont to put on film whot our eyes see. Oureyes con look qt o newspopr, or o person qcross the toble, or three milesowoy, ond they will oll be shorp to us. lf something very close ond yery foris shorp to us ot the some time-like our eyes see things-it is colled greot" depth of fteld ". Our eyes hove o greot depth of field. The lenses found on mosf ordinory comeros do NOT hove o greot depth offield. But the D. ZUIKO lens on the Olympus PEN hos one of the greotestdepth of flelds in existence. To prove this, moke o photogroph of o neorobiect, q middle obiect ond o for-owoy obiect in the some picture. TheOlympus PEN will get them ALL shorp ot the some time, JUST AS OUR EYESWOULD SEE IT.(To be doubly sure, use the highest numbered f/stop whenever possible.l

Depth of FieldRemember thqt Depth of Fiefd INCREASES os you use o ftgure f/stop. Remem-ber olso thot subiects do not suddenly become f vzzy if they o re outside thedepth of field. Obiects groduolly lose first o little shorpness, then moreshorpness the further they get outside the depth of field. For simple operotion, ond for the most sho rpness, use the higher numbered f/stops whenever possible.Since the PEN EE is o fully oufomotic comero, use the fostest oyoiloble ftlmlhqf you con. This will give you o higher ASA setting, ond the comero wilfoutomoticolly give you shorper pictures due to q greoter depth of field.Shorp enlorgement in size of 4t' x 6+" is ossured ot ony distonce further thot5 feef f rom the subiect. lf on enlorgement more thon l}'t X 12" is required, use o distonce longer lhon 7 feet fo the subiect.Auxiliory lens is ottocho ble to PEN EE f or moking close-up pictures f rom 2lo 4 feet.
