Olympic Games in Sochi

On October, 28, 2005 the International Olympic committee officially approved the use of "Star Sochi" - symbol of request campaign of " Sochi -2014" as a logotype of Sochi as city-pretender on a right for realization of the winter Olympic games 2014 year.

An Olympic emblem of Sochi is a star from white and blue lines on a background blue sky and mountain peaks. All logotype is self-possessed in the colors of the Russian flag.

Blue is a color of sea and sky, white – snow, red is a color of victory.

The Olympic rings of five colors are also symbolical for Sochi: blue sky, greater part of year a yellow sun lights, alongside is the Black sea, a city is in green from a vegetation locality and neighbors with Red Glade.

A logotype of winter Olympiad Sochi 2014

Talisman of winter Olympiad in Sochi 2014 first in history of olympic motion will be chosen by the national voting. The winner of

competition will be chosen by the national voting of February, 7, 2011, exactly three years prior to beginning of Sochi Games.

The competition was to create a talisman in two nominations: the "Olympic talisman" and “Paraolympic” talisman". An image necessarily must be the result of creative labour of participant. A picture can be executed both in coloured and black and white image in any technique, including computer graphics.

The talisman was chosen on TV show “Talismania“. The habitants of country will be able to choose talismans winter Olympic and Paralympic Games 2014.

Winners of the national voting for talisman of Olympic Games:

1. Snow ounce - 28% voices; 2. Polar bear - 18% voices; 3. Young hare - 16% voices.

Talisman of Paralympic Games:

- Ray and snowflake.

The start of clock took place in Sochi, leading the reverse

counting out of time to beginning of winter Olympic Games 2014 year in Sochi.

Their height a 4,15 m, length - 4, 408 m, weight are 3500 kg

The design of clock reflects

the spirit of dynamic and contrasting region of Sochi, where majestic snow tops

are combined with the warm Black sea.

Scale building developed in Sochi large, in

connection with realization in 2014 of the winter

Olympic games. Preparations to Olympiad 2014 began on Building of the Large ice arena in the Olympic park on a black sea resort. A park will be able to contain about 75 thousand visitors, all ice arenas will be within the limits of pedestrian reach

from each other.

The opening of Winter Olympic Games is pre-arranged on February 7,

2014.
