Dear Parish Family: May the Lord give you His peace! I write these words with a deep sense of gratitude for the blessings God has sent us! It was a beautiful blessing to see our community, united and working together, for one purpose. I was happy to see the children running around the plaza so carefree having fun. The horseshoe participates were a great example of solidarity, they were willing to travel, play in the tournament and help our community. Thank you for participa-tion in our jamaica. We had so many enthusiastic people helping, many were at their booths for more than 10 hours. It is a lot of work to
prepare and sell items all day then to help cleanup afterwards. Many many thanks!! We are grateful for so many things: to have volunteers on our Jamaica Committee, to have people who are willing to come out and spend their money buying food and playing games, to have sponsors from not only our community but from out of town; who are willing to share their material possessions, such as tents, sound systems, tables, chairs, etc., to have parents willing to participate in the baby pageant, these and many more. Thank you for being such a committed community! I am very proud of everyone and thank you for all you do. On behalf on the three of us: God bless you all! Yours in Christ -Fr. Evencio

ROSARY The month of October is a powerful time to draw close to Our Blessed Mother by praying the Rosary. She loves it when we draw near to her in trust. Praying the Rosary is similar to small children reaching up to hold the hand of their mother in complete trust. During her lifetime, Mother Teresa always carried a ro-sary in her hand. In this way, she said, she was hold-ing Mary’s hand. Saint Louis de Montfort said, “Mary is the safest, easiest, shortest, and most perfect way of approaching Jesus.”
By Monique Sammut
“The Rosary is a long chain that links heaven and earth.
One end of it is in our hands and the other end is in the hands of the Holy
Virgin...The Rosary prayer rises like incense to the feet
of the Almighty.”
-St. Therese of Lisieux

The next second collection will be October 5 & 6, 2019 for Respect Human Life. The annual Respect Life Program is a nationwide effort to help Catholics understand, value, and become engaged with building a culture that cherishes every human life. As a gift from God, every human life is sacred from conception to natural death. The life and dignity of every person must be respected and protected at every stage and in every condition. The right to life is the first and most fundamental principle of human rights that leads Catholics to actively work for a world of greater respect for human life and greater commitment to justice and peace.
