MASS INTENTIONS
REFLECTION
MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR
The Resurrection of Jesus from the dead means that death has no hold on us. There is a reality beyond this reality. We do not have to hold on to this life, in fact, we can let it go. We don’t have to be the best, the top, the richest, the strongest, have the highest G.P.A. or paycheck. We don’t have to have the biggest house, biggest car, biggest bank account because these things are just left behind. What we do need to have is a relationship with Jesus Christ and a life that allows him to overtake us, live through us and make us the best humanity has to offer. It is through THIS event that Jesus bridges the gap between this life and heaven. By defeating death, we who go through death who have been attached to him, made part of him in baptism and re-main in him through the Eucha-rist and a life that loves God and neighbor, we transcend death into a life forever and ever. There will be no more crying. There will be no more death. There will be no more misunder-standings, fights, power-plays and rejection. It is all because this event, the Resurrection, took place. When I live a resurrected life, I can withstand all that comes at me, even when I think I cannot. My priorities change and I understand that the thing I was clinging to that I thought gave my life meaning really doesn’t. -Mark Kurowski
Dear Family! He is RISEN! We have New Life in Jesus! We rejoice in His New Life! We, your Franciscan Friars, wish you the Best Easter!!! Let us live His New Life! I would like to thank all those who participated in last Sunday’s community event at the Plaza. I was happy to pray with other Pastors (leaders) of the Christian Com-munity of Hebbronville, we pray for the spiritual growth of the citizens of Jim Hogg County. I was delighted to see everyone coming to enjoy a beautiful family Easter cele-bration. A big thank you to all those who participated in
our Good Friday Fish Fry! Whether it was with dona-tions, helping with the plates or buying a ticket, everyone came together to make it possible. Events such as these make it possible for our parish to have the resources to continue serving all of you! May the Lord be your re-ward!! We take a little break and come back to continue with our First Holy Communions on Sunday, April 28th. It is also Divine Mercy Sunday! Thanks be to God that the New Life of Jesus and His Divine Mercy know no end!
In His Love, Fr. Evencio

Next week, April 27th and 28th we will take up the Catholic Home Missions Appeal. Right now, over 40% of dioceses in the United States are considered mis-sion territory because they are un-able to fund essential pastoral work in their communities. Your support of this appeal eases the struggle of these dioceses. Please prayerfully consider how you can support this appeal. Find more information at www.usccb.org/home-missions.
