Oakmont’s Holiday Bake Sale to Benefit the Alzheimer’s AssociationAll year long, Oakmont residents have been volunteering their time to support important causes through the activities program Contribute. During the last part of the year, we are focusing our attention more closely on helping raise awareness and money to support the search for a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. To help in our fundraising efforts, Oakmont’s team of Chefs are putting on a company-wide Holiday Bake Sale to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.

From November 15th to December 27th, Oakmont residents and their family members can purchase a seasonal pie or cake made from scratch by an Oakmont Chef. Selections will include a Homemade Roasted Pumpkin Pie, a Vanilla Bean Cranberry Bundt Cake with Orange Rum Glaze and a Dutch Apple Pie with Toasted Pecan and Oatmeal Streusel. These desserts make a great addition to any holiday party and $5 from every purchase will go to the Alzheimer’s Association. Oakmont is proud to be supporting the research to end Alzheimer’s and we hope you’ll be a part of this delicious fundraiser. Contact the concierge for details, pick-up days and how to order.

Meet Kimberly, Oakmont of Fresno’s new Health Services Director. Kimberly has over twenty-three years of experience in the medical field with the last ten years focused on elder care. When asked what she loves the most about senior living, Kimberly says, “Hearing residents’ stories, seeing them smile, and hearing them laugh! To me, there is no better reward.” Kimberly’s hobbies are quite diverse as they include MMA and boxing workouts, crocheting, and drawing; she is even an accomplished acrylic nail artist, having once been published in Nail Pro magazine. When she describes her interests, Kimberly says, “I want to be remembered not for I what I had done, but for how I made people feel.” Please join us in welcoming Kimberly to the Oakmont family!
