To: Chief LarmoreFrom: Asst. Chief ShafferDate: October 11, 2012Re: Replacement Medic Unit
Chief Larmore, I am recommending the purchase of a replacement Medic unit from FescoEmergency Sales. The unit will be a model year 2013 Horton model 623 on a International 4300
extended cab chassis. This request will be a sole source purchase on the HGAC cooperativepurchasing agreement AM04-10 dtd 01/17/11. The Fire/EMS division currently operates a fleet ofHorton/International units. I am recommending the division stay with the same manufacturers forconsistency and ease of operation between units. This is a current budgeted item at $248,000.00.Theprice is $250,515.00. The difference in cost was discussed with Budget Manager Knapp earlier thismonth. She will find the additional money to fund the purchase.
