The UPS Store 143 CadyCentre Building 248-344-1980

Talking Turkey—and Moose, and Fish

One question often heard at The UPS Store is: “What is the strangest thing you’ve ever shipped?”

Manager Barbara Davies once packed and shipped a fresh, homemade Thanksgiving Dinner.

Tammy Bingham once crated and shipped a moose head.

Owner Mike Ladwig once packed and shipped a sail-fish.

Tom Charara has packed dozens of AT&T U-Verse receivers.

Beverly Roush once packed an electric sign from a 1940’s Presidential election campaign train.

One slogan often spoken at the UPS Store is

“Big or small, we ship it all.” The staff is well-trained in packing, shipping and

freight services, trained on anything from dry ice shipping regulations to processing paperwork to get international

shipments through Customs. After 17 years in the business, the crew has es-

tablished a highly successful record of safe deliveries. Whether your shipment is fragile, frigid, fresh, or

Get healthy, fight stress…and sweat! Bikram Yoga Comes to Downtown Northville

Perhaps Bikram Choudhury, founder of the in-

ternationally acclaimed Bikram Yoga, said it best: “Yoga is the only exercise in the world you can do at any age. It’s never too late, you’re never too old, too sick, too fat, too anything to start from scratch again.” Certified Bik-ram Yoga instructor Melissa Curnett agrees and invites you to grab your yoga mat and towel – because Bikram Yoga has arrived in Northville! On Monday, October 11th 2010, Bikram Yoga opened its doors in beautiful down-town Northville, located at 122 MainCentre. The new yoga school will be celebrating it’s Grand Opening No-vember 19-21, during the Northville Christmas Market, with a party on Saturday night starting at 7:00 pm with music, food and fun.

Bikram Yoga’s beginning 90-minute class is a complete series of 26 postures (asanas) and two breath-ing exercises (pranayamas) which are suitable for all ages and levels of ability. Each posture stretches and strengthens specific muscles, ligaments, and joints for the next posture, which ultimately balances and strengthens every system in the body in order to pre-vent illness, injury and limit the effects of aging. This series of postures also increases one’s self-control, which greatly reduces high levels of stress. “Come sweat with us,” invites Curnett. “This yoga never gets boring!”

In addition, Bikram Yoga Northville will offer massage by certified therapists as well as a boutique which boasts an array of goods that will nurture your inner yogi/yogini. If you haven’t tried Bikram Yoga, now is the perfect time. For more information, including class schedules, pricing, and more, please visit Bikram Yoga Northville online at www.bikramyogadetroit.com or call (248) 924-2002.

lan Life, love and the one that got away highlight this bold, fresh and unique musical comedy about Lloyd

and Marvin, two ice-fishing buddies from Northern

Wisconsin who share a mutual love of good bait, cold beer and the Green Bay Packers. Marvin, who‟s sweet on the checkout girl at the Pick „n‟ Save, is

nervously awaiting his opportunity to star in a cable TV fishing show. Lloyd ponders a rocky marriage, aggravated by his desire to spend his wedding anni-

versary at Lambeau Field. They both battle Ernie the Mooch in a goofy show full of belly laughs that will resonate with anyone whose lived through a north-

ern Midwest winter and can appreciate the bond only men can feel in a minus 36-degree wind chill.

PROOF FEBRUARY 3 – MARCH 5, 2011 by David Auburn Set in Chicago, this winner of the 2001 Pulitzer Prize

for Drama and Tony Award for Best Play looks at the

loyalty and devotion of fathers and daughters even in the toughest of times. Catherine, the daughter of

mentally-ill Robert, a recently deceased mathemati-cal genius, is struggling with her fears of following in her father‟s footsteps mathematically and mentally.

Struggling to find her own way in the world and searching for faith, hope and love leads her to Hal, one of her father‟s former students, and the realiza-tion that while life is often based on provable facts, a

leap of faith is also often a necessity.

THE COCKTAIL HOUR MARCH 24 – APRIL 30, 2011 By A.R. Gurney

The old grudges and stifled hopes of a typical well-to-do and publicly admired American family come to light in this dark comedy that exposes the realities of relatives. John, an emerging playwright, has come

home to ask his father‟s permission to produce his latest play, which is based on his real family – warts and all. The crisis that ensues highlights the some-

times quirky and often truthful ways family members see themselves and each other. In this cocktail hour, which is prolonged by a newly hired cook‟s inability

to make a roast, people unravel as well as unwind.

CRIMES OF THE HEART By Beth Henley May 19- June 25, 2011 Sisterhood is at the core of this dark comedy that

won the 1981 Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics‟ Award for Best American Play. Babe Magrath has shot her senator husband in the stomach and doesn‟t want to tell her lawyer why. Despite being

part of a family in which dysfunction and sometimes tragedy are the norm, Babe and her sisters, Lenny and Meg, reunite at the old family home in Hazle-

hurst, Mississippi during this latest turmoil to work through old rivalries, jealousies and disappointments and prove that even in the worst of times a girl can

always count on her sisters to help pick up the pieces. Performances will be held at 8:00 p.m. on

Thursday through Saturday, with matinees at 3 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets for performances range between $25 and $30.

TPT is looking for corporate sponsorships for its upcoming season. Sponsorship is a great
