NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council proposes to make a permanent Traffic Regulation Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to amend the waiting restrictions on Little King Street in East Grinstead as follows: a) To remove the bays for police vehicles, reduce the number of taxi bays on the south side of the road and extend the western end of the current bay for pay and display parking; and b) To extend the length of the current double yellow lines on the south side of the eastern end of the road. Full details of the proposals in this notice can be viewed on our website at www.westsussex.gov.uk. The website includes a response form for any comments or objections. The documents may also be inspected at County Hall Chichester, during normal office hours, and at East Grinstead Library, 32-40 West Street, East Grinstead during normal library opening hours. Any comments or objections about the proposal must be received before 6 September 2018. These may be submitted via the response form on the website mentioned above, by e-mail to tro.team@westsussex.gov.uk or in writing to TRO Team, West Sussex County Council, The Grange, Tower Street Chichester, PO19 1RH. (East Grinstead: Little King Street Amendment) Order 2018

STATEMENT OF REASONS FOR PROPOSING TO MAKE THE ORDER

West Sussex County Council proposes to make a permanent Traffic Regulation Order that will amend the waiting restrictions on Little King Street in East Grinstead as follows: a) To remove the bays for police vehicles, reduce the number of taxi bays on the south side of the road and extend the western end of the current bay for pay and display parking; and b) To extend the length of the current double yellow lines on the south side of the eastern end of the road. A new commercial and residential property development is being constructed on land to the south of Little King Street. To ensure access to the new development is not obstructed the double yellow lines at the eastern end of the road need to be extended. To avoid this reducing the amount of available public parking it is proposed to remove a parking bay for police vehicles, and reduce the length of a taxi bay at the western end of the road. This will allow the current bay for pay & display parking to be extended westwards. This will compensate for the eastern end of the bay being shortened by the new double yellow lines. The new Order is therefore proposed to improve the amenities of the area through which the affected lengths of roads run and to facilitate the passage of traffic. (EAST GRINSTEAD: LITTLE KING STREET AMENDMENT) ORDER 2018

West Sussex County Council in exercise of their powers under Sections 1 (1) 2 (1) and (2), 4 (2), 45, 46, 49 and 53 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") as amended and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act hereby make the following Order:-

1. This Order shall come into operation on the ***** day of ****** 2017 and may be cited as "West Sussex County Council ((Mid Sussex District) (Parking Places & Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation No.2) Order 2006) (East Grinstead: Little King Street Amendment) Order 2018".

2. The “West Sussex County Council (Mid Sussex District) (Parking Places &

Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation No.2) Order 2006" is hereby amended by the replacement of the plan specified in the First Schedule to this Order, with the plan specified in the Second Schedule, attached hereto.
