Term 2 Reports and Parents’ Evening

Term 2 Academic and Merit Reports were issued on Tuesday, 16 July. A Parents’ Evening will be held on 30 July 2019 in the School Hall. This is a ‘by invitation only’ event and parents who are required to meet the Grade Tutors and educators will be

South African Literacy Association’s Competition

32 Rand Park learners participated in the South African Literacy Association’s Public Speaking Competition during Term 2. Speeches were recorded in the first round and were submitted to the adjudicators. We are pleased to announce that 12 learners were selected to go through to the semi-final round for Gauteng which took place at Charter College on 13 July. Our learners did exceptionally well and were commended for their controversial and powerful topics. We await details of those learners who will progress to the final round of the competition. EQUESTRIAN NEWS

Rand Park High School was recognised as one of the top schools at the SANESA Gauteng West Awards’ Evening held at Mount Usambara on Friday, 12 July 2019. Christina Koevort won a Bronze medal for In-Hand Utility. Christina and Kaitlyn Koevort won Silver Medals for Handy Hunter. SANESA Gauteng West selects 10 riders every year to be their Top 10 Winners. These riders must achieve consistently high results across the same four classes, on the same horse, over the four qualifiers. Christina Koevort and Ravishing Diamond placed 10th. Kaitlyn Koevort and Shakira placed 5th.

In the Schools’ Category Event, Rand Park High competes in Category F (for 9-12 horse/rider combinations). Rand Park High was the outright winner of this Category and came home with the trophy! Congratulations to the following riders who have been selected to compete for Gauteng West at the Gauteng SANESA Finals to be held from 9-11 August 2019 at Misty Meadows in Pretoria:
