RECFA recommendation

IPPOG Meeting #9, Paris, 16-18 April 2015

From the minutes of the 20 November 2015 RECFA meeting at CERN

In his brief report, H. P. Beck stressed that the European Strategy for Particle Physics supports outreach, and that this important component of the scientific activity should receive adequate funding. He further presented efforts, needs and current support of IPPOG and proposed that to professionalize IPPOG it should be supported through membership fees by national, experiments and laboratory delegates.

R. Heuer pointed out that an IPPOG sustainable structure has to exist and that the person power is very important. He also said that IPPOG should address the request for funding to the large experiments and laboratories. In conclusion, M. Krammer said that the Committee recommendation is to start the negotiations with the experiments and laboratories and to improve the organization and structure of the IPPOG.
