NAMES OF ALLAH AL HASEEB We need to study the names of Allah. The more we learn about Allah, the more we see that the things are perfect. It is obligatory on us to have knowledge about Allah. It will tell us how to think and act in this life. When we don’t know Allah and we only see actions of people then we experience unpleasant things. However, when we know Allah then even when we see poverty and problems we know that it is decreed by Allah who is perfect.

We learn about Allah to live positively in this life and upgrade our vision and at the same time we want to be in Paradise. The best book to explain to us about Allah is the Quran and it is sufficient for us to know Allah. Allah explains us about this name in Surah Al Isra. Surah Isra is about the Quran. The Ayah 8 to 17 in Surah Isra explain the meaning of Hisaab.

Our life is based on Hisaab. Everything is with calculations including the coming of the day and the night. Allah tells us in Surah Rahman that He created everything with Hisaab.

Surah Isra: Ayah 12

In Ayah 12, Allah tells us that He gave us two signs i.e. Day and night. Allah made the day and night as a sign telling us who is Allah. Allah erased the night and we cannot see people or things but Allah made the day apparent and we can see anything. This tells us during the day we should seek the favors from your lord and during the night we need to rest. The work of the day is for the Duniya and the work of the night is worship. Another purpose of day and night coming in succession is to keep a track of years and reckoning.

Everything is recorded in the book. The book is being written by angels. Allah appointed two angels with us who will be with us till we die. These angels record everything we do. After we die, the book is for us and it will be made apparent to us on the Day of Judgement.

On the Day of Judgment, Allah will command us to read our book. Each of us will read our book. Allah will tell us it is enough for us to account ourselves. We are taught hisaab in the duniya so we are able to take account of ourselves on the Day of Judgment.

Allah Al Haseeb will account everyone on the Day of Judgment.

MEANING – AL HASEEB

Lingustically Hisaab means

• To measure • To put things in right perspective • To put things in right measure

No one can do Hisaab more perfectly than Allah. Hasib means the peron who is doing hisaab. And Al Haseeb is an exaggeration of the characteristic of Hisaab.

MENTION IN THE QURAN

Al Haseeb is mentioned three times in the Quran. Two out of three times, it is mentioned in Surah Nisa. The third time, it is mentioned in Surah Ahzaab.This means we need to account ourselves a lot.

The theme of Surah Nisa is to have mercy on those below you. We need to be careful with anyone who is under our care and not account them. The one having authority needs to fulfil the needs of his dependent’s even before they ask.

Allah tells to the Prophet that it is not his job to account the people. Allah is Al Haseeb so we should not interfere in the judgment. We should not give ranking to the people. We should not praise or dispraise the people too much. Hisaab is only in the hands of Allah because he is the creator and our Rabb.

Surah Nisa: Ayah 6

When you are incharge of the orphan, you need to guard their money. You need to test them if the orphans are wise in their money, and when you see them doing good then you give them all their money. Allah is telling us that He is doing accounts above us. When we account , we can make mistakes but Allah does not make any mistakes

Surah Nisa: Ayah 86

Here Allah is telling us about the greeting of Salam. Allah tells us when someone greets you with Salaam, then you need to respond with a better greeting or the same. Allah tells us he is Al Haseeb and is accounting us even for our greeting.

These Ayat tell us that Allah will account everyone.
