By going abroad (to other countries)
• You learn about how and WHY other cultures do things the way they do.
• Understanding people who have different traditions than you do.
• Explore and discover new foods, customs, traditions, music, and systems.
Why learn about other countries?
• The United States has emerged from them and effects them dramatically!
• We are a major GLOBAL player on this planet (economically, politically, and evironmentally).
• Mostly… because by REALLY studying how we fit in with the rest of the world, you can BETTER appreciate and understand who we as Americans are!
