SOUND ABSORBENTS WITH WORLD-CLASS ACOUSTICS AND ECO-FRIENDLY MATERIALS
NATURAL HARMONY
With an increasingly frantic pace of life, peace and quiet has become a scarce
commodity. Unfortunately modern architecture can increase the problem with busy
environments and noise pollution. From offices and open floor plans, a constant
flow of visual and auditory impression comes towards us from all directions.
Our sound absorbers are designed to prevent interference sources. They shield
off and create enclosed spaces while effectively absorbing the noise and provide
peace of mind.
Our second goal in the development of future absorbents focuses on the inner
values. We do not think avoiding toxic materials is good enough. A good material
should be in harmony with nature all the way. We have therefore developed a very
special absorbent material – Ecolin. It consists of flax and corn, and is covered
with cloth of pure sheep wool. With biodegradable natural materials your conscience
can remain clear as well.
GENUINE AND NATURAL
Morgana is located in the heart of rural south Scandinavia. A region built on
small-scale forestry, agriculture and craftsmanship. Our closest neighbours
– the woods and fields – is not only a source of inspiration. They are also the
sources where we obtain our raw materials.
From the forest, we take the wood that frames our screen walls and absorbers.
In the fields both corn and flax are grown, before they become the components
of our proprietary fiber material. Just beyond, on the meadow, the sheep graze
that provide wool for the fabric covering. The local view of raw material supply
is not a new invention, in response to today’s buzz around locally produced goods.
The roots of our company is a carpentry business with a long history where we,
through the ages, have found the raw material in the woods around the corner.
From our carpentry past we have also inherited some other properties that may
be worth mentioning, craftsmanship and care for the end product. Pride in a
job well done lives on even if today it is designed furnishings in future-friendly
materials that we supply to our customers.
UNDERSTATED YETDISTINCTIVE DESIGNFor our sound absorbers to function in the
environment where they end up they also
require a harmonious appearance. We have
therefore used experienced decorators and
designers. In a fine line between appearance
and function, we have strived to create
shapes that appeal to the eye, yet break and
absorb the sound waves. The end result is
a range of products that reduce noise,
but also enhances the visual experience.
DESIGN: MIJA KINNING Mija is for many a familiar face as a long-
term presenter in one of Swedish television’s most popular building and
interior shows. She has become known as a creative and innovative designer
with a viable design language and solutions that most people can relate to.
– Modern architecture with open floor plans, high ceilings and many hard
building materials has its disadvantages. A lively three year old with rolling
toys in such an environment will soon become a noise problem.
– I see it as a necessary challenge for us designers to overcome these pro-
blems. We must find solutions that reduce and absorb sound, while in terms
of design can blend into the space, both at home and in public spaces.
– At Morgana we are inspired by Mija’s ideas. Our goal is to realize them into
products that create harmony in the interior environment as well as the exte-
rior, with organic materials as a natural consequence.

Our range of sound absorbents include wall, ceiling and standing/
hanging models. In many of the models you can choose from
our proprietary Ecolin material, with outstanding performance
in both acoustic and from an environmental perspective, or a
simpler but cost-effective polyester fiber.
Whichever type you choose, it’s the acoustic characteristics
that has been the primary consideration for us in the design
of our absorbers. Period.
FUNCTION
The hard-pressed edges of our absorbents provide stability and make them easy to assemble. Some panels can be directly fit into standard suspended ceiling structures . We also have an extensive range of smart mounting solutions for wall, ceiling, floor and suspended installation.
FITTING When we design our absorbers the visible mold on the outside interact with the construction on the inside. The hard-pressed edges breaks the sound waves and reflect them in different directions. Behind the flat surfaces are a thicker layer of absorbent material that cushions and absorbs sound waves.
SHAPED FOR OPTIMAL ACOUSTICS
In our quest for greener solutions, we offer two fabrics that both are fully biodegradable. Either pure sheep’s wool or bamboo fiber. Wool is fire resistant and has good humidity-regulating properties. Bamboo is naturally antistatic and antibacterial. It is grown without pesticides and also absorbs five times more green-house gases than cotton.
FABRIC
Our proprietary absorbent material, Ecolin, has amazing qualities of sound absorption – both in the attenuation of sound and reduction of reverbera-tion values (echo). The material is particularly effective in reducing rustling and whirring sound in high frequencies. Ecolin consists of fibers from flax which are moldable and fixed by the addition of PLA (corn starch).
ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY ABSORBING MATERIAL WITH EXCELLENT ACOUSTIC PROPERTIES
When evaluating a sound absorber, it is
measured how much it attenuates sounds
in different frequency ranges. The clas-
sification is based on a standard curve
of the measured product to surpass. In
the diagram you can see that our Ecolin
absorber exceeds the highest classifica-
tion - ’A’. In the higher frequencies with a
very wide margin.
All our absorbers are tested and approved
to fire classification EN ISO 11925-2.

We design, develop and produce sound absorbents
for public and private environments. We work with
established designers and engineers to produce
absorbents with high customer value. Both the
shape and the environment must meet today’s
strict customer requirements. Therefore, we use
only recyclable or biodegradable natural materials.
