    2. Create a group: Determine a code for your group. This is how students will be a part of your

private group and how their projects will appear in your group's showcase. Ifyou want to create groups for future cohorts, be sure to make the codespecific so you can add future classes to your group!

o Examples of other group codes: UT Austin chose "UTCAPSPR13" fortheir spring 2013 capstone course on Game Development; TheUniversity of Michigan's School of Information chose "expoSItion13"for their spring 2013 ExpoSItion Event.Next year they can use"UTCAPSPR14" and "expoSItion14" respectively.

Brand Your Network: Choose a banner (1366px by 450px) to appear at thetop of your group's showcase. Seean exampleat the top of the showcase forthe University of Texas at Austin's Digital Media Institute.

Choose Privacy: Select your network's privacy settings (visible to public, visible to group, or visible only to user).

Select Custom Tags: Choose a set number of tags that will be pre-populatedfor students in their add-work process.

Invite Students: Collect a list of student names and email addresses that youwould like to participate in your group. Then, upload a CSV file of studentnames and email addresses or copy/paste student emails and they will besent a link that they can use to register on Seelio.

There are three ways to do it.

    1. Member opt-in while adding a piece of work: When a student joined a group,he/she becomes the member of the group. After adding a piece of work, the

member can then decide which gallery to publish the work to. The publishingoptions will only appear if the member is part of the group. The groupadministrator may deactivate the publishing options after the gallery is archived.

Figure 7. Work settings options when a student is adding a piece of work:

    2. Member opt-in when browsing a showcase: When students are browsing ashowcase they are part of, they may contribute to the showcase by selecting aspecific piece of work.

    3. Administrator recommendation: The group administrator may submit a memberswork to a showcase. The student will receive a system email that his/her workhas been included in the showcase. Ultimately, the student may choose toremove the work from the showcase.

How to feature works in the showcase?

Administrators are given the privilege to hand pick works to appear in the featuredsection of the showcase. There are two ways to feature a work.

    1. Administrator recommendation: The group administrator may feature a memberswork in a showcase. The student will receive a system email that his/her workhas been featured in the showcase. Ultimately, the student may choose toremove the work from the showcase.

    2. If the student is not a member of group, they may submit their work to thefeatured showcase. The administrator of the group may approve it. By doing so,the student will then be added as a member of the group.
